Re: Photo Log on the Sample Diet
I'm so sorry for the multi-posts. If only I could edit my post 5 minutes or more after posting them... My antihistamines (Loratadine) contain: - loratadine (10mg) - lactose - microkristallijne cellulose (E460) - magnesiumstearaat (E470b) - maiszetmeel Are any of these dirty protein or do any of thes...

Re: Photo Log on the Sample Diet
When I gently scratch my skin, sometimes these tiny tallow-like granules will fall off, which are hard in texture. What is this? If it's hardened sebum, this supports your (RRM/Wai) claims that sebum canals are not blocked by dead skin cells but by sebum that can't get through and 'hardens', so it f...

Re: 'muscles turn into fat' myth true after all?
because fat weigh less than muscle... but will take up more waist space.. that's what I learned anyway.. where the lost muscle go.. I don't know.. I never pretended to know.. not my area of expertise.. but I bet RRM can explain. Well, yes. Muscle holds a lot of water (or so I thought). This water w...

Re: Photo Log on the Sample Diet
Thing is; I am 4-5 weeks past this Face Tanner incident and there's still new small pimples surfacing. Can it be that these were formed 4-5 week ago under the skin and took that long to finally surface?

Re: Photo Log on the Sample Diet
Here's something to illustrate the similarities between my skin condition (acne or heat rash, I don't know) and ACTUAL heat rash (miliaria rubra): http://i56.tinypic.com/ayxfmo.png As you can see, the spots from the 3 images have some scary similarities. The characteristic 'red blotch with a white s...

Re: 'muscles turn into fat' myth true after all?
Perhaps you did eat more than your needs then? I mean perhaps you overestimated your energy expenditure? :p Could very well be, but why is my weight the same then? Don't tell me water retention, I was all past that stage at that time. Also, this still doesn't explain where these energyful Amino Aci...

Re: Photo Log on the Sample Diet
Hello everyone. It's been a while. I've basically avoided any mirrors like the plague the past week, hoping my mental state would get better. What's not helping, is that I have an itchy/dry kind of feeling which makes smiling hurt. It goes away for a minute of 5 after applying coconut oil. In the mo...

Re: 'muscles turn into fat' myth true after all?
Muscles can not turn into fat, they are two different things. I'm no expert but I think this is what happened in a nutshell. You got fatter while your muscle mass decreased without much fluctuation of weight. I too lost all my muscles on this diet. Amino Acids are a (potential) form of energy (or f...

'muscles turn into fat' myth true after all?
Ever since starting the Wai diet, I've always consumed exactly my energy needs (I did NOT gain or lose weight). Also, I've stopped my vigorous training regimen for muscle growth (3 times a week full body for 0,5-1,5 hours). Remember, my weight's remained THE SAME. 72kg. However, my body composition ...

Re: Combat dry skin with Coconut Oil?
Also, coconut oil should be solid at room temperature, right? If so, how come the book states '2 drops of oil'. Why 2 drops and why is it called oil, instead of fat (fat as in solid oil).

Combat dry skin with Coconut Oil?
Hey, I almost always have this itchy/dry/tight feeling in my facial skin. In the morning (my face is also NEVER oily in the morning, even when I went to bed with a slightly oily face, why is this?), it's not noticable, but as the day progresses it gets worse, and when I smile I can feel it very inte...

Re: Self tanning lotions and acne
Thanks RRM for your quick answer. I'm going to be very cautious indeed, because some self tanners HAVE caused skin rashes in the past (the only one that didn't was indeed Fake Bake).
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Speed of the sebum/oil reaching the surface
I know, I'm adding a lot of threads today, but whatever; it's another discussion point. I've been thinking. Since oil and sebum are secreted as a reaction to dehydrated skin (weather/airco/hot shower/cleansing), once a 'dry skin' signal is given, the sebum/oil glands excrete sebum and/or oil (you've...

Self tanning lotions and acne
So, because a lot of face cremes (e.g. benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin) and pills (accutane) my face has gotten discolored. It's unable to get a decent tan, it mostly gets pink, while the rest of my body tans perfectly. Very frustrating. Does anyone know if this effect of medication on the skin lingers ...
