Re: Raw wai like diet for body building
Yeah, I discovered that vegan was sub-optimal the hard way :D I thought it was interesting to see the Wai style fruit consumption, with the small meals working best and he was certain that low fat didn't work well. I am interested in his point that muscular body comes from high intensity training. S...

Raw wai like diet for body building
Not sure where to share this since it isn't fully Wai (feel free to move it), but thought it was close enough to be of interest to people here. This body builder is vegan, but has found that following many Wai principles work best for him. He eats small fruit meals throughout the day (about 2 banana...

Re: Acne, aging, and sensitivity
Thank you RRM for helping me see that more clearly. I should note too, that I've been eating more fat than protein, so this must help with the water retention too. My protein intake is usually 2-3 eggs plus about 4 oz of fish or sea food. And yes, my hormones are more and more balanced as acne reduc...

Re: Good Skin at Last! (vegetarian -> vegan -> Wai)
This week I started preparing our own raw fish. I bought some freshly frozen fillets of marlin and corvina, which I liked plain better than ceviche style (squeezed lemon to "cook" them in). Then a fisherman friend brought us some whole mackerel, which I managed to fillet and de-bone myself! I though...

Re: Acne, aging, and sensitivity
I've found that food sensitivities (allergies) can improve a lot in time, especially if you completely avoid the irritant foods, and I wonder if some of this has to do with the gut lining, which can heal with the right circumstances. Probably protein tolerance may be a slightly different issue thoug...

Re: Good Skin at Last! (vegetarian -> vegan -> Wai)
Also, its a very good point about "suffering" and plant life. Personally, I don't harbor guilty feelings when I eat anything, as I value (my) human life very much, but I have realized more recently that there is a lot of feeling/awareness in plants. Agriculture practices (especially grain crops) are...

Re: Good Skin at Last! (vegetarian -> vegan -> Wai)
Nice to read your thoughts overkees. I agree that fruit, and perhaps eggs are foods which are very freely given. For me, I actually feel closer now to the animal world and it was important for me to realize the gift and God presence in animal foods. I feel grateful and more connected to the world as...

Re: Good Skin at Last! (vegetarian -> vegan -> Wai)
Thanks Waipete! I'm still figuring my diet out and after some food experiments, am heading naturally back towards wai style again. Two things I can say for certain though... I feel the best with an all raw diet and I am very grateful to all the information here which led me to try raw fish. I've bee...

Re: Good days & Bad days
In my opinion whether a newborn baby can learn to communicate if it needs to pee or poop or not is only good if they are not suppressing it and waiting for the parent Absolutely! I can hardly believe you know so much about it :D We used cloth diapers w/out covers for both our kids, which was a fast...

Re: Ultimate health guide
I wanted to add some female specific items to this list, to share with other readers/partners/spouses/friends. Healthy menstrual products: Use menstrual cups (like keeper, diva cup or others), reusable cloth pads (glad rags, hemp cloth, flannel, a simple wash cloth) or sea sponges instead of paper p...

Re: Radiant light emitted by TV and computer screens
I haven't read all these studies but I agree on a few points and disagree on others: Learning from electronic media is one of the best ways to learn about life/history/culture all over the world, without traveling. It opens up more channels of learning than it closes. I grew up w/out TV, and my kids...

Re: Good days & Bad days
Ever heard of elimination communication (EC), panacea? Newborn babies can and do communicate when they need to go pee or poop. Its mostly a lost art in modern parenting societies, but tuning in to that was what all traditional parents used to do. Much easier and quicker without the clothes for sure!...

Thanks panacea, I'll try the simpler meals and the chewing... it makes a lot of sense.

Re: Good days & Bad days
You guys are all my kind of people, and I'm having a good day just reading through these posts!:) Reaching for the next best emotion, like Ekhart Tolle talks about in some of his books, sounds a lot like panacea's explanation, but panacea's is much more concrete and indepth - I like it! When reachin...
