Re: Pesticides from fruit vs toxins from cooked foods

Yes, I can and do get many other fruits. I've heard that watermelons soak up a bunch of residues from groundwater, as they are made up mostly of water and a shorter lived plant than, say a fruit tree, with better filtration system. So, in my opinion, melons are something to be careful of, even when ...

Re: Pesticides from fruit vs toxins from cooked foods

I've had pesticide or herbicide-laced watermelon several times. It makes me very dizzy for a few hours. I like good watermelon, and nothing's marked organic where I live, so sometimes I risk it and its generally fine. I think we recover faster when the pesticides are in food we eat raw, but the effe...

Re: Ultimate health guide

My FIL runs marathon distances/does yoga and has for more than 40 years. He told me that when he started focusing more on pranayama a few years ago, (and less on exercise) he suddenly saw huge physical improvements. He also says it affects his sleep pattern, when he practices before bed, and he feel...

Re: 60s CP in one month

@overkees - so sorry to hear of your accident - hope you're recovering nicely! @everyone - can anyone help summarize some of the techniques to improve CP and clear breathing in general? I've read through parts of the normal breathing site, but am wondering how to measure changes, and how to increase...

Re: Ultimate health guide

I really like this thread! So many people miss that there are well rounded factors to health, not just diet, or just exercise, or just breathing. BTW, I am fascinated with the info on breath, and have been working at increasing CPs too! Thanks overkees, for posting about that! I have studied a littl...

Ray Peat and Avocados

I'm wondering if anyone has opinions on avocados? I like Ray Peat's writings, and find that he supports many aspects of the wai diet. However, he's very anti-avocado: Animal proteins, and fruits, because they contain the lowest levels of toxins, should form the basis of the diet. Not all fruits, of ...

Re: Fruit sugars and 80/10/10 diet

Hi, I'm new and just wrote a testimonial to the powers of the Wai diet - hurray - no more acne! I come from a background of trying out 80-10-10 for 1.5 years. Great points in this post. Dr Graham is correct (in a way) eating large fruit meals (he advocates 2-3 meals a day, not grazing) do work best ...

Good Skin at Last! (vegetarian -> vegan -> Wai)

Hi Wai Friends, I'm two and a half weeks into doing Wai 100% properly, and my acne is GONE! I am feeling so much joyful gratitude, that I joined this forum to thank RRM, Wai and all the others on this site for sharing their knowledge and experience! So, here's my great big thank you, and lots of lov...
