If I try to drink more juice during the day, I start to like it less and less, even if I'm completely out of energy, and either stop drinking it, or drink it and get a sugar overdose. When I overdose on sugar, I get very angry! And then I want to sleep. Does this happen to you? Your sensitivity to s...

Consuming lots of sugars does not cause Candida overgrowth, simply because our defense system regulates the growth of all bacteria; it maintains the right balance, unless you weaken it by the intake of antibiotics. Also Wai said this. Huntress, have you tried eating fat with the fruit? Like perhaps...

My eyesight improved randomly in college, and has improved slightly more since then from becoming healthier in general; I think from -2.5 to about -2. I quit contacts and only occasionally use an old pair of glasses that is a bit too strong. When I started studying Bates several weeks ago, I would g...

bad vision is not wanting to see clearly If you study up on Bates, you'll see this isn't what he's trying to say. As the Alexander technique shows us, we all have bad physical habits that are completely unconscious. However, by becoming conscious of them, we can correct them. This includes back mus...

She was not aware of pumping practices, but she actually biked home to breastfeed me twice a day. Wow! Give her a hug for us, eh? Dadasarah, do you think the fact that the consumption of formula milk and Coca-Cola (or McDonald's) is so correlated is in itself an indication that they tend to...

I really liked your thoughtful post. About the connection between women's right to work and WHO's recommendation for 2 years of breastfeeding is that with the current state of affairs, lots of women cannot do both, so it will ipso facto discriminate against working mothers. Something has to be done...

Limiting anyone's choices, men or women, is not supported here. Access to information about possible outcomes of our choices is freedom, not restriction. "...the less human infants have been breast-fed, they generally become dumber, and fatter, and more susceptible to infections and diseases." This ...

There is definitely a strangeness you feel after starting this diet. It's natural that your mind should worry that something's wrong or at least something weird is going on. Don't worry. You're getting all the nutrition you need, and nothing that could harm you (anymore!). The addictive qualities of...

Scientology's pretty big out here, but it's always scared me. I've done some research, and the basic theories seem helpful to some degree, but the organization seems to demand a decent bit of money. And they have lots of secrets. I don't like secretive religions. Nobody who's trying to help people s...

So every kind of fat can be converted to another? Is it any easier on the body to prevent unnecessary conversion? How does the conversion occur exactly? I read somewhere that cholesterol produced by the body is made from saturated fats; is this true?

I don't have any idea what the best balance of saturated to unsaturated fats for humans is, but coconut oil is 14:2 and olive oil is 2:12. Surely we're somewhere in the middle. CG probably got too unbalanced to the unsaturated side, which is why she needs so much saturated now. I don't trust my mind...

Also, many many former vegans have returned to milk products to resolve health issues, like Gandhi, so Gavi's advice may be helpful, as a last resort.
