I don't really know of any database, but you can search on like Eurek alert for anything you need to know, and normally they have studies on it.

For example cranberries stop tooth decay, or cherries reduce the duration and potency of muscle pain, jalepenios kill prostate cancer cells, etc.

While it's actually the "Mediterranian Diet," they say that it's "a diet loaded with fruit, vegetables and olive oil, some fish and alcohol, but little dairy and meat."
