I've been doing the wai diet for quite a while now... and I still had a -huge- nasty breakout on my forehead before my period. That day I ate some lightly cooked shitake mushooms, (for a treat) but those are low protein...? So I don't know.

That's cool... I didn't know about the avacado, potassium and steady energy of a banana. :)

Thanks :)

Oh I forgot to mention that the prednisone causes acne in most people, except those with hormonal acne, and in those people (me) it cures it...?

That's just what I've read though...

:)

...if something seems to good to be true, it probably is...

so well it was just the prednisone. I'm off it, and my skin has gone back to 'normal'. What I found out though, is interesting; Prednisone also suppresses androgen, that can cause hormonal acne. There is also a link between androgen and blood sugar levels... I'm planning to ask the dr about how to f...

Prednisone

Hi, I was recently perscribed a short 5 day course of prednisone to reduce inflmamation in my throat, from a bad virus that caused me to totally lose my voice. As an instructor, I couldn't have this. So after the five days my acne is completely gone, in a way it never has been before. I also started...

Hi RRM, Well yeah... my brother lives downstairs, types incssently until 3am. The ear plugs don't shut it out. My retired parents stay up until 12:30 am every night. They shower before bed. My mom then gets up at 7:30 or earlier. They all live on coffee, etc except me. Their room is on the top of mi...

Hi, eating a banana a while before bed helps... it has potassium, and seems to be both filling and calming. I used to eat a banana and one St. John's wort/melatonin if I couldn't sleep, though I can't officially recommend that part of it. Get lots of fresh air and outdoor exercise, long walks are gr...

I forgot to mention that I sometimes used melatonin and St. John's Wort as natural sleep aids. It's not within the Wai philosophy which says the less chemicals, the better, but I think these are still better than perscription sleep aids. I need those sometimes now because I live with family who stay...

I'll second that, from direct experience. I had to start amytryptaline (for FMS), gained 10 lbs w/in a month, and have celulite where I've never had it before. I was on the lowest dose allowed, and all this still happened. Luckily summer is coming. The medications are a huge part of it for sure, for...

Movies such as 'The Secret' and 'What the Bleep Do We Know?' help with this. Yep. No matter if you 'believe' those ideas or not. It works on a purely mental/scientific level and also on a 'spiritual' level.

MJ, You are right, we do seem to be saying the exact same thing. Internet communication is not always ideal. lol. I didn't mean to take your comment personally. I imagine it must be difficult to suggest to your clients to consider professional help for the mental aspect of their problems. Have you h...

Alright, MJ, I'm convinced. What do I google, exactly? To find the Muscle Balancing expert in my area? I can only do this if it's covered under health insurance. Otherwise it will have to wait for now. I managed to 'cure' my symptoms of excercise induced asthma by doing the Butyeko breathing techniq...

I don't wear heals, just to clear that up. :) Well maybe once or twice a year. I love the way they look, but they're just too uncomfortable. Does anyone have a link to a video illustrating the correct way to run using the 'fox walking' technique? I don't believe people are born with anxiety, rather ...

Someone recommended Pete's book a few years ago. I bought it, skimmed it, was in grad school and had no time to read it. Perhaps I'll look for someone to do the MBF here. Thanks for all the information. It's fantastic. Yes I get the idea from the simplified explanation. I think that a lot of it is (...

Hello MJ, I am aware of the other aspects of the Wai Diet, the frequency of eating and all that. When I do that, and the combinations correctly, then yes, everything is perfect. It's just that I don't want to spend all my time making and eating food. My skin doesn't like me to eat eggs in the mornin...
