Do I need more fat?
First of all - a very happy new year to everybody! 2005 was a drag - let's make 2006 sooo much better. :) And now to my question - I have taken out nuts from my diet, because my sensitive digestion system doesn't seem to handle them very well. Thus the only fat sources (on top of oranges and bananas...

Re: Having trouble shelling your Brazil nuts?
Some more words on Brazil nuts: Some people seem to have problems digesting these nuts, and claim to experience outbreaks caused by them. Obviously there might be an allergy involved, but in my own experience it is very important to ingest the nuts the right way - doing this certainly got rid of the...

Re: Food combining
Oscar: No, I'm talking about nuts, quoting the following segment on the site: "You should eat some Brazil nuts (only if shelled by hand), avocado or a few bites of the salad that is covered with sufficient olive oil after every time you have eaten some fruits / fresh juices. This to stabilize the bl...

Re: My Story
ATK, Thanks for another interesting post. I used to be a vegan, but came to realize that the diet was not ideal for me, neither from a physical or psychological perspective. I do a lot of yoga and play a lot of squash, and experienced decreasing endurance the longer I was on the vegan diet. I am als...

Re: My Story
What a great post! The story you tell, ATK, is very similar to how I stumbled across the Wai diet - interesting! I have some questions for you, if you don't mind: - Why do you want to eliminate nuts from your diet? - Do you have any problems digesting oils in your fruit juices? According to many peo...

Having trouble shelling your Brazil nuts?
I just realized that storing the nuts in the fridge, makes them way easier to shell without breaking the nut. Also, the nuts get a very fresh taste, and I guess by storing them in the cold they will stay fresh longer... Just a piece of advice for you all

Food combining
According to natural hygienist Herbert Shelton, among others, one fundamental principle in food combining is not to combine proteins and fats with sugars. Thus, oils and nuts are recommended to be consumed with vegetables, not with fruits. On waisays.com, however, it is recommended that nuts should ...

Re: Replacing the animal products
Guys, Thanks for your replies! I have certainly had some second thoughts about the whole supplements thing - I am the kind of guy who avoids pills at any cost, so eating supplements does not exactly feel natural for me... I am going to give the egg yolks another try, I guess. (Please see my other po...

Re: Replacing the animal products
Thanks for your replies, guys! Oscar: Yeah, I think you're right about your thoughts on over-consuming B12 and D. However, a lot of people out there seem to argue that the FDA recommendations for vitamin D are way too low. I know that vitamin D deficiency is very common in Sweden, so to be on the sa...

Replacing the animal products
Hey all, I've been following the Wai diet for a couple of weeks now, and I really like it. I used to eat a lot of cooked food - eliminating these in favor of raw foods have proven greatly beneficial to me! However, I also used to be a strict vegan, so I am not crazy about including the egg yolks in ...
