Re: Seborrheic dermatitis
I found someone online mention using this, http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/supplements/mycozil.html?a_aid=4ea8773c3570f&a_bid=b39349d2 for dandruff (caused by the same fungus). I'm curious what anyone's thoughts are on this. I never understood the idea behind 'natural' anti-fungal / antibiotics e...

Re: Slow juicer recipes
Has anyone tried soaking the almonds before making the almond milk? I read that you *must* soak them 24 hours overnight (but this was for a non-slow juicer), but maybe soaking will make the almonds softer and therefor better juice.

Re: Seborrheic dermatitis
Hello. I believe I have the same thing. The Wai diet helped me in this regard also, but not completely. The leading theory is that Seb Derm is caused by the Malassezia yeast. It eats Oleic Acid (found in all oils, including your natural skin oil). I believe Vaseline helps because it reduces oil prod...

Re: Gut issues and Glutamine
Sorry to be making 3 threads in a row. I think this link could be relevant. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3971359/ Although maybe it's only effective on shantytown children because they're so nutrient deficient to begin with. I guess many supplements could decrease intestinal permeabil...

Re: Gut issues and Glutamine
Ok, this is what I got. http://www.gnc.com/GNC-Pro-Performance-L-Glutamine-Powder/product.jsp?productId=2133643 Somehow, I felt a little awkward being this skinny guy buying something marketed toward strong guys... It's unflavored, and apparently has nothing but Glutamine; though in Turkey it costs ...

Re: Gut issues and Glutamine
Oh wow, I looked for these kinds of studies for so long, but only found research on cancer patients, and many articles state the research doesn't apply to athletes, because the stress is not comparable. You're definitely the master of research (or there's just something wrong with me. Again, I spent...

Re: Vitamin B12 deficiency
Only bacteria (including salmonella) and algae can make B12, but animals such as humans can convert one form of B12 into another. I'm not quite sure, but I think that bacteria and algae can only make cyanocobalamin, whereas meat gives us methylcobalamin (which is more bioavailable), and cyanocobala...

Re: Gut issues and Glutamine
Thanks for your answers RRM! They're always so level-headed. Well, I'm really just imagining I may have a gut issue because so the Seborrhea / dry eyes / white tongue / nerve problems (which I know is from piano, but think maybe somehow linked to gut) and being underweight / finding it nearly imposs...

Gut issues and Glutamine
Hi, _______________ preamble I haven't posted for ages; not sure why. I was on the strict diet for some time, and then things were easy, and I didn't even feel a need for the site. After traveling it became hard to maintain, and I'm still not in a great position to choose my food (I'm now a live-in ...

Sorry for these 3 posts in a row. I have percentages on the various Rosacea triggers for different people. 82 sun 57 stress heat 53 products 41 spice 40 alchohol 40 hot bath Sulpha drugs are often used topically; (when I was a kid I had a reaction to a sulpha drug.) sun protection is recomended dail...

Re: rosacea
rosacea.org says "it is not unusual for seborrheic dermatitis to appear concurrently with rosacea". In the past I'ev always thought it was seborrheic dermatitis, because of my dandruff, and dradle-cap as a baby, so maybe it's both? Maybe Ishould provide photos?

rosacea
So I'm quite certain I have Rosacea. I've done two 'quizes' and scored 10/10 and 14/15; and the symptoms describe my face very accurately. http://www.skincarephysicians.com/rosaceanet/rosacea_quiz.html http://www.rosaceafacts.com/rosacea-quiz-results.aspx I read this study, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.g...

Re: Electrical juice press = good investment
So, I'm back to stage 1 buying a new juicer. Re-reading this thread I'm still not certain whether to buy something like the Olympus, or the Solis. RRM, you said you'd used a manual juicer before, and that the electric is way faster. What kind of manual was it (cheap/expensive)? Maybe the quality of ...

Re: Male pattern baldness
Maybe a shampoo with Zinc, azelaic acid, and B5? The WaiWiki article linked earlier is a long read, but I gathered a shampoo containing these would be a solution without 'side effects'. I imagine a topical H-PGDS inhibitor would be extreme for many cases (I'm thinning on top, but I think it's mostly...

Re: Store bought juice
The wiki says acrylamide decomposes in the presence of acids, does that mean it will decompose in OJ? Also, here are some links comparing 'raw orange juice' which I assume means juice made fresh, and 'orange juice drink' which I assume means stuff like tropicana, although for the life of me I can't ...
