Re: Oil as a cause of insulin resistancy / diabetes?

What do you think of the info presented in the diabetes article?
Usually in food discussions there is no differentiation between heated/cooked and raw, which makes distinguishing correct from false far more difficult.

Re: Red scars

Drinking 500ml of OJ per half hour is quite a lot. This will spike your blood sugar once your glycogen depots are full. Also, 16 egg yolks in a relatively short time might aggravate your acne as well.

Re: Board upgrade

Editing (and deleting) should be possible for a limited time on a new post. Used to be 10 (5) minutes, I changed it to 15 (10) minutes.

Board upgrade

I've upgraded the board from version 3.1.10 to 3.2.0. Unfortunately this means that the board style we've been using isn't working anymore :( Until I've found a new style we'll have to make do with the default 'prosilver' style. Looks pretty ugly if you ask me :( Edit1: Of course if someone is able ...

Re: Q about (cooked) salmon and iron intake.

Maybe you have an issue with your stomach lining? In it are cells that produce hydrochloric acid, and cells that produce pepsinogen. The acid is the first step in the digestion of protein, and pepsinogen is turned into pepsin by the hydrochoric acid, thereby forming the second step. If the productio...

I never check, other than looking at the yolk, and I hardly ever throw one away.

Re: Confused.. how to stick to Wai? And what about fat?

You have to think about the question: how do you acquire body fat? Body fat is an energy storage facility, which means that energy can be converted into body fat. Whenever there is excess energy available, typically during/after a big(ger) meal, it will first be converted into glycogen, but when the...

Re: Confused.. how to stick to Wai? And what about fat?

It's not to be underestimated how addicted we are to some non-Wai foods, especially those containing opioid peptides (wheat and milk products, taste enhancers). Even when on the 100% Wai diet we are still addicted because we (and our bodies) remember the addiction. My personal addict-food was paprik...

Personally I'm not that crazy about walnuts, but pecans are really tasty :)
Favorites remain Brazil nuts and Macadamias.
