In his second post just below the first one, he wrote : "The fat is thick and can clog your blood,,making it more difficult for any sugar intake to get distributed to your cells quickly and easily..Thats why you had a high sugar reading, the fat makes the sugar linger longer in the blood..hence a hi...

Re: Choline
Thank's RRM. Here is a nice debunk of the first study : http://understandnutrition.com/2013/04/13/review-of-the-tmao-heart-disease-study/#more-616 "In summary, Koeth et al. present an interesting hypothesis but they fail to address several serious study flaws. First, other compounds besides carnitin...

Re: Choline
Look at the links between choline and Cardiovascular disease/prostate cancer (via TMAO conversion) : CVD: "Intestinal microbiota metabolism of choline and phosphatidylcholine produces trimethylamine (TMA), which is further metabolized to a proatherogenic species, trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO). " : h...

Re: fred's journal
The oil, even in small amount, was thickening my blood and disturbing my sugar metabolism. No, thats speculation. I am not the only one on Wai diet to have this experience and speculate this way : http://www.waiworld.com/waitalk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1509&p=35484#p35484 Do you have another ex...

Re: Vitamin B12 deficiency
Are you sure breastmilk is the sole source of B12 for infants ? B12 is also present in stool, dirt and bugs, and children like to play with them... this statement is also wrong : "vegans and fruitarians use less [B12] and are able to maintain stores for longer". (I was just surprised that you didn't...

Re: B12 Deficiency : supplementation on a Wai diet?
Liver and mollusks are the best source of B12 : http://nutritiondata.self.com/foods-000 ... 000-w.html
Testing B12, Methylmalonic acid and homosysteines levels seem to be the best thing to do.

B12 deficiency widespread?
In this article : http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/pr/2000/000802.htm : B12 Deficiency May Be More Widespread Than Thought B12 deficiency is quiet common among vegetarians/vegans as well as omnivores. This article says that B12 is better absorbed from dairy and fortified food than from meat. On wikipedia ...

Re: Slow juicer
Vertical slow juicers like Versapers/Hurom-Oscar/Omega can juice bananas. Banana juice also gets brown quickly, and the taste gets worse with time. Maybe adding juice from acidic fruit could slow down oxydation.

Re: fred's journal
Yes the food is very expensive in Sweden, but the true reason is that I don't have time to go shopping during my stay, so I have to rely mainly on what is available at my place. I also won't have my juicer at my disposal...

Re: fred's journal
I want to have some "body stock" before August when I will spend 3 weeks in Sweden with nothing more than just some bananas, ground meat and (disgusting) honey to eat (cooked food is unfortunately unbearable for me). I will loose probably +6 kg, so I don't want to be too much underweight at the begi...

Yesterday I had 3591 Kcal "only" (I was bored to eat so much honey) and I loose 400g. I need to eat 4000 Kcal everyday to constantly gain weight. What a nightmare!

Re: fred's journal
When you say sugar, you mean sugar s (plural; total simple carbs), right? Yes, that is what chronometer says : sugars = 765g. I don't think I ate 120g of starch BTW, given that bananas were well ripened and juiced. So it was more 850g of total sugars. That is a bit frightening to eat so much sugar,...

Re: fred's journal
I ate 775g of sugar yesterday (not 1kg as I wrote). I am sleeping quite good with this high sugar diet (7 hours in a row). Good energy. It is a bit force-feeding but I don't know any other way to gain weight than to force myself.
