Re: Wai Warrior - for autophagy - AN EXPERIMENT
So endurance exercise is better from the autophagy point of view? I wonder how much is the difference.

Re: Why do fruitarians look old and unhealthy?
Well the protein supplements are irrelevant if protein should be kept at 10% of calories (40-50g protein a day, assuming 2000kcal a day). It'd be hard to build muscles with that little protein indeed, it may be just enough for maintenance (if the protein is 'complete'). Without animal food it would ...

Re: How fast can weight be gained?
It's very hard actually, depending on whether you are skinny or fat naturally.
For me it's really really hard to do it with 100% wai, probably impossible. But also with junk food it would take me a long time to add 5kg, like year(s).

Re: Why do fruitarians look old and unhealthy?
of course not all bodybuilders look or are healthy, but there are many who are natural and trying to stay lean and healthy year around, not for competitions, but simply for themselves and general health. I am not talking about professionals bodybuilders, Kane Sumabat is not competitive bodybuilder....

Re: Why do fruitarians look old and unhealthy?
The fruitarians simply don't get enough essential nutrients, like protein and B12. Furthermore they are usually 'hippies', not much grooming, all natural, all day out in the sun, so they look even more out of the ordinary. The bodybuilder is at the completely other end of the spectrum, he is eating ...

Re: Gut serotonin and metabolic rate
Why is higher metabolic rate healthier? Other than because of the potential weight loss? I think it is quite widely accepted that lower metabolic rate = longer life expectancy. Changing the metabolic rate is not so easy anyway.. going on extreme caloric restriction lowers metabolic rate by only 10%....

Here's a review of a nice study, on how fruit consumption correlates proportionally to reduced risk for Alzheimer's. It's even better than exercise/running. Check the diagram at the end. http://www.runnersworld.com/health/exercise-alzheimers-and-fruit Original study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubm...

Not sure why you think sugar coats the gut? What is gut coating anyway? A film on the gut (which part, stomach, small intestine, ...?) which is not digested somehow?

Re: Reaching CP 60 24/7
Hey Kasper, that sounds great! I've been lazy the last few months with exercising/running, but it's always motivating to see someone else picking this up again. I'll start doing those sessions, my excuse these months has been that my knee hurts when running, but vigorous walking should be just as go...

This however is quite interesting The protective role of autophagy in Heterocephalus glaber hepatic stellate cells exposed to H2O2 or nutritional stress. We demonstrated that NMRs have higher levels of autophagy than short-lived C57BL/6 mice, and this may play an important role in the maintenance of...
