Re: Pro-/Anti-bacterial fiber?
It is not so easy to give good scientific references for that. It mainly has to do partially with logic and I must add some nuance. Carrots grow underground, they therefore are heavily under influence of all kinds of fungi and bacteria, the carrot itself harvests therefore alot of antimicrobial prop...

Re: dried dates
Apart from the theoretical digestion hindering part of dates, my experience tells me otherwise. Dates won't cause signs of bloating for me and even more important, they produce a significant difference in the soiling effect for me. Almost any other fiber from fruits causes troubles in me, except for...

Pro-/Anti-bacterial fiber?
Not all fiber is the same. Antibacterial fiber can be a major help in controlling disbalances in gut health. Reduction of certain fibers, orange fiber for example is highly probacterial, will have major benefits aswell. Best way to use the fiber as a medicine is to eat it apart from the food itself,...

Re: dried dates
Dates are a very easy snack to always carry with you and ingest lots of sugars fast with very very little protein. They are very cheap if you buy them organic, due to their low water content and easy drying process. 750g dried dates for something like 5-6 euros. If I start buying bulks even cheaper....

Re: Wai Warrior - for autophagy
I think it has to be one of the two. Either you eat small meals frequently, or you eat a big meal with a very long interval before the next one. I find it very strange that you eat your protein so late. If I have a proteinous meal right before bed time my sleep will be much longer and I will always ...

Re: Electrical juice press = good investment
I've got the solis juicer. The outside is of aluminium, but where the juice is is only stainless steel that is specially treated for acidic substances. It juices very easily , I can juice in 10 minutes 2-2.5 Liters or something with it. Cleaning is even easier. I'm very happy with it. Solis juicer.j...

Re: B12 Deficiency : supplementation on a Wai diet?
Egg yolk is rich in B12. You need to eat about 5 for 30-40% of your daily value. Can you eat herring? Herring is extremely rich in B12: http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/fin ... cts/4065/2

Re: fred's journal
Honey's sugars are most easily absorbable of any type of sugary food. And besides it's very antibacterial. Raw honey is the prefered substance to add more sugar for energy to your diet. It is, however, expensive... much more expensive than plain table sugar. There are some B vitamins in honey and tr...

That are very good levels of triglycerides so there is no need to worry, and since you don't eat cooked food, there will be little to no oxycholesterol. And alot less of other unregulated oxidation when comparing to normal people. I would say perfect. Just keep a close watch on how much your body li...

Wild game is very suspectible for parasites. Do you know for sure it didn't had any? Was it frozen for at least 2 weeks? Freezing kills most of the parasites but definitely not all.
Lamb and beef are pretty safe regarding parasites if you collect it from good sources.

Re: Where is Wai?
About friends and coworkers: they will of course find you a nutcase in the beginning. But if you keep discussing the diet and answer their questions they will always (to a certain degree) tend to agree and admit they wouldn't be able to do it. But, always emphasize that you are doing it for health r...
