Fish in lime/lemon

Post by fictor »

OK, I have a question about soaking raw fish in
lime or lemon juice prior to consuming it.
This "fries" the fish. The fish no longer
have the same 'raw' feel to it, but it has not
been exposed to heat.

Can it be considered raw? Is this ok to eat on the saple diet?

It causes the protein to denaturate, but it does not originate dirty protein, so yes, its perfectly safe to eat, even if you are extremely susceptible to acne (like me).
Just make sure not to use salt (in restaurants they generally use salt in that process)

Thanks RRM! :)

I make it myself, and I dont use any salt.
Only organic salmon, lemon juice and a little
dried chives. Yummy! :)
