What oil? Which vinegar? What about sugar?

Alternative Sources of Omega 6's

Post by Seth »

I have switched off of Olive Oil and use Coconut Oil instead. I am, however, wondering if I may need to find another source (e.g. Evening Primrose Oil) for Omega 6's. I really don't care for eggs and use fish for protein. Any suggestions?

I never thought about omega 6. I've read so much stuff how the american diet gives us too much omega 6 in relatin to omega 3. I guess being that I don't follow the SAD, I shouldn't assume I get all my 6's.

Omega 6's are everywhere. With this diet you dont need to worry about taking in enough omega 6's (or 3s)

Even without taking any Olive Oil? EVCO doesn't have any Omega 6's from what I understand.

As i said, omega 6s are everywhere, including in fruits, nuts, fish and yolks.
So, no, you dont need oil to get your omega 6s.
EVCO does contain omega 6s (gamma-linolenic acid is one). In your first post you even thought about EVCO as an alternative source of omega 6...
