Plum (kernel) Oil

Post by Brazilnuts »

Hi all,

I did a search first but could not find any topics related to this type of oil. Is it okay to use cold pressed virgin Plum Oil in place of Oilve Oil?

Some descriptions are below:
Plum kernel oil is a new and innovative gourmet oil made with the kernel inside the pit of the plum. link

We devised a technology to brake the shells and extract oil from plum kernels. Virgin Plum kernel oil is fluid at ambient temperature and has a typical golden colour. link

I found it in Sainsbury's.

Does anyone know if this is okay on the Wai diet? :?:

I haven't looked at the link, but it seems to be made from the plum kernels, not plums themselves... :?

Yes, as I would imagine almond oil is made...from the kernels and not the flesh of the fruit instead.

Is that a bad thing?

Yes. Kernels are not as fit for human consumption. Kernels contain a variety of mild and not so mild toxins.
