Protein content of home made cashew milk?

Hello,

I like to make my own cashew milk, by grinding up the nuts and letting them sit in a bowl of water for some time. I then remove the mush from the solution, and drink the remaining milk.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the protein content of such a solution may be? Will I lose out on protein and other nutrients by throwing away the mush?

:roll: They are always heated? I buy some from a health food store that reads "raw" cashews.

without heat it is impossible to open the shell I believe.....

There are companys that say there nuts are 'really raw' and claim to have a way to open the shell that doesn't use heat.

Just assuming that your cashew nuts are truly raw.
That woud result in drinking water with some of the nut-ingredients dissolved in the water.
I dont think its easy to dissolve protein from the nut that way, so i suspect that this 'milk' will contain very little protein.
Will I lose out on protein and other nutrients by throwing away the mush?
