whats the least harmful way to grind nuts to a flour?

Post by Cairidh »

These are all the ways I can think of:

Food Processor
Vitamix
Blender
Hand Held Blender
Yaoh Nut Milk Maker
Homogenising plate of a Juicer
Coffee Grinder

Of course the nuts will come out of all these looking very different, from flour to thick sauce, to mush, to nut butter, but what all these machines do, is grind the nuts into tiny flour size particles...which method do you think is the least damaging?

I would have thought the Juicer, but my nut butter often comes out warm, so apparantly not.

I don't think that's possible, because of the fluid in the nuts. It will become a paste. A blender won't make them small enough anyway, maybe coffee grinder? I used to grind pine nuts to make pesto in a coffee grinder, but they came out as a paste.

I have a handheld grinder that is designed for nuts, chees, chocolate ect...
It makes a very fine flour out of nuts when using the fine drum...
I'll see if I can find a link for U...

If you dehydrate the nuts, it should be easier to grind them up into a flour. Don't take my word for it, I haven't tried it myself.

I personally prefer nuts in a paste form. It's easier to mix with other things, and seems to be easier to digest.
