fruit alone

Post by johndela1 »

I eat a lot of my fruit alone. I usually put bit of oil in my juices. I'm thinking this sounds kind of crazy, but does this put me at risk for diabetes? I follow the diet pretty strictly outside of not using oil with solid fruits.

What puts you at risk for diabetes, is very much fluctuating blood sugar levels. If you manage to keep your blood sugar level relatively stable, you are not at risk.
Its just that its easier to keep your blood sugar level stable when combining sugar with fat. The essence however, is not eating big meals, and very frequently ingesting some energy to keep your blood sugar at the right level. With the source being both fat and sugar thats easier than with sugar being the sole source. But its not a condition.

Even though I have debated with you about not eat lots of small meals but rather 2 or 3 large meals, in practice I do eat lots of small meals. I guess my debating was more of a theoretical thing.
