Newbie, need help with last bit of weight loss

Post by Claudie »

Hi, I've just started Wai, (second week) and I feel really great. My skin is already clearing up and I sleep better among many other things. I'm really trying to lose a little weight (I put it on living here in Thailand- land of fried food and never walking anywhere- lost a load through running like crazy, but had just reached that 'body fighting back' stage that Wai explains!).

I am about 5'6", and now weigh around 62 kilos, (I am big up top though- 34E, I'm pretty sure they must weigh a lot!) whereas before I came here I was really happy with my weight of around 59. I was wondering if someone could check my nutrient calculator results and give me any tips? I did notice an initial weight loss but I guess that was probably water?

Right now I can't drink juice as I am having teeth whitening treatment, but I'll be back on it soon, they sell fresh juice on every street corner!
I also eat fruit like mangosteen and prunes that I can't find on the calculator- prunes are ok right?

Also, I walk an hour before breakfast (involves getting up at five, but it's the only time the weather isn't sweltering!) and an hour before dinner. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the weight comes off, and I'll be patient...

Last little question- on the days I can't buy avocadoes- what can I substitute? And, can you eat too many egg yolks? They make my hair feel amazing!

Sorry for the essay!

Then its now time to stop the fighting mode that you started yourself.
now its time to learn to listen to your body's immediate energy needs. Then you will gradually lose the rest of your overweight (when on this diet).
someone could check my nutrient calculator results and give me any tips?
Its not about counting calories, or how much fat / sugar.
Its about meeting your energy demands constantly, and about never oversupplying. no big meals, just replenishing lost blood sugar.
No more running. Do walking instead.
I am having teeth whitening treatment,
That hurts the protective layer (enamel) on your teeth.
Please stop it.
prunes are ok right?
Yes
on the days I can't buy avocadoes- what can I substitute?
you dont need to substitute (other than eating more fruits)
can you eat too many egg yolks?
No, as long as they are raw.
Probably your appetite for egg yolks will be subject to changes anyway. but, no, you can eat as many as you want (if they are raw, of course)

yolks at night?

Post by Claudie »

Thanks for the quick response.

I'm nearly finished the teeth treatment so I guess the damage is done! Oh well...my teeth are beautiful, if also ruined :(

I had three egg yolks in a banana drink yesterday and couldn't even taste them, I would recommend that to anyone who is squeamish about eating them. (no milk, just blended honey, water, ice and banana- you have to wait for the ice to melt a little after otherwise the yolk freezes a bit)

I like to drink them about 9pm as they really help me sleep, is this ok? I don't really have any other time of day where i can rest after.

Will keep everyone posted about weight loss. My arms are definitely slimmer and my face has lost that chubby, unhealthy look. Have a friends birthday party in a week so am willing myself not to fall off the wagon...

Thanks x

You can eat the yolks at any time, as long as you aren't too active afterwards. Your energy intake looks a tad low (at 1773kcal), but like RRM said, it's about learning to listen to your bodily needs. The weightloss might take a while, especially the last bit, because your body has to adjust everything until the ideal situation is found. Good luck! :)

Unfortunately, you cannot blend any fruits, such as bananas, as that can give you acne too. (it does in me) :(
Try adding them to OJ...
Taking the egg yolks before you go to bed is ok (they make you sleepy indeed)
