Fishy Odor by maillard reaction product?(embarrassing bodies

Post by Squash »

Hey everyone (especially RRM),

I want you all to take a look at these fragments of an episode of Embarrassing Bodies and tell me if this woman is indeed suffering from maillard-reaction proteins that can't be broken down properly. The compound in question is called Trimethylamine. As you can see she's also put on some sort of Wai-like raw diet.

Trimethylamine is rather a breakdown product, as particularly so in fish gone bad.
Im guessing that particular woman is suffering from trimethylaminuria, which is a disorder in which the body is not able to deal with trimethylamine from food;
particularly from foods high in choline.
