Hair styling products

Post by fictor »

What kind of hair styling produckts do you guys use?

I should use some kind of wax or moulding cream, but it
seems to promote breakouts from clogging pores.

Any sugestions? I guess a natural wax made only from
vegetable oils and waxes might be best? Am I right?

try some aloe vera gel from the health food store. not sure if Oscar and RRM will approve. But maybe it's ok if on the hair and not the skin.

I have actually tried it, and it does not provide enough hold, sadly, as aloe
vera gel does not seem to worsen acne in me.

I don't use any styling products anymore, and I don't have any idea what you could use. :(

I have stopped using styling products for quite some time, since I looked
so ugly with the pimples anyway, I felt no need to try and make my
hair look good. But now, skin clearing up for real, I feel I want to look
my best. I have a short, messy hairstyle, so it needs styling, or I look
really lame..

You dont use the wax on your face or body right? It just comes in contact with your scalp, no?
So, it doesnt cause acne. You can safely use it.

RRM: The problem is that sometimes when I do net get to shower
before I go to bead, or if I work out and sweat, my hair falls down on
my forehead, and thus the wax comes into contact with my skin.

I think though that a wax made from vegetable fats might be ok, since
it does not seem to clog my pores like mineral waxes do.

ps ALWAYS look after yourself. Take pride in your appearance. I understand acne deeply affects self-esteem. But trying your best will help.

dionysus: Thank you so much for the reply! :)

It is somewhat hard for me to put some chemical gunk
in my hair (it is so close to my face!), so I think I will
keep my eyes open for a natural alternative, like
the "John Masters" series of natural hair products.
I have bought his "tangerine hair texturiser", but
really only tried it once. I will try to man up and do
some more experimenting with it, but not until
my even a little better than it is now.

And thank you for the reminder to take good care
of oneself and ones appearance! It is important to
remember, having low self esteem.

If the chemical gunk makes you look hot for the opposite sex, there is no alternative. Life is short enough.

I read Aajonus Wonderplanitz's book "We want to live"...
One of the most usefull things in the book was his hairspray!

I have been using this the last days, and it works great!

Mix 1-2 teaspoons of honey (depends on how much "hold" you want)
in 1 cup of water. Use a small spray-bottle. Spray on dry hair, shape your hairstyle.

One might need to reshape during the day, with either more spray, or just water. Washes out easily!
