Bad cystic acne after baby - Help

Post by Wantgoodskin »

As a teenager I had cystic acne and then I had great skin in my twenties , but while I was pregnant and since having my baby at 29 my skin has broken out and I have now started to get really horrible cystic acne on my neck around my jawline - it is so depressing. My baby is now 18 months and it still hasn't gone. My doctor prescripted Roaccutane, which I have been taking for just over two months and it has not improved. I generally have a good diet, but do eat chocolate. I have tried to take the chocolate away, but it didn't get any better, so I thought, why should I deprive myself of it.

I have recently moved to any country, so perhaps this is also it. In addition, I was using Differin (while using Roaccutane), but this seemed to make it worse. I just don't know what to do next.

I have been washing my face with a scrub to get makeup off and then with soap (which my doctor was fine about, but she also said that within a month of using Roaccutane my skin would be all clear). Most of my face is fine, but my neck and jawline are getting worse. Can anyone help?

Hello, welcome to the forum :) sorry to hear you are feeling depressed about your skin. Have you read the Wai book? It contains the essential information about acne and diet; all of which this message board supports.

Like jfk said, you might want to read the online book first (http://www.freeacnebook.com/contents.htm).
It's a long read however, so if you want to start doing something while reading the book, you could take a shortcut and read about the Acne Sample Diet (http://www.waicure.com/acnesamplediet.html).
