Vegatarian / vegan diets are high in omega-6 fatty acids, which in general doesnt seem to have severe adverse health outcomes.
The imbalance in the omega 3:6 ratio, and limited dietary sources of EPA and DHA in vegans and vegetarians led to reductions in EPA, DPA and DHA and total omega-3 in phospholipids, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylethanolamine compared with omnivores and semi-omnivores. Similarly, a dutch study found higher omega 6 (particularly LA) and low omega 3 (particularly EPA and DHA) in Dutch vegans. Fokkema MR et al
