Indeed. But, from the Free Acne Book: "limit your meat intake to a bite of fullfat bacon once in a while if you must have prepared meat. All other meat contains far too much protein."
But I can eat steak tar tar right?!
As long as it's realy raw, yes. Otherwise it could make you brake out.
What are the best munch foods for you guys, that don't make you break out?
Can't help you with that as nothing seems to make me break out....

Losing or gaining weight depends on energy intake and output. If your intake is lower than your output, you will lose weight, and vice versa. This can be done regardless of diet. The problem with 'normal' diets is the addictive substances and appetite enhancers present in prepared food (the more protein food contains, the worse), which will make you consume more energy than you need. That's why it's easier (once you get over the cravings ;)) on the Wai Diet.

Update

Post by ellen »

Well I haven't lost any weight since I introduced much foods into my diet.
But then again it was more like a 'takeover' of much foods than an introduction.

I haven't gained any weight either, and my set point weight now, seems to be 3lb lighter than a month ago. (that's a hard thing to do, since usually I gain the weight back when I'm off a diet almost immediately)

My skin has gotten better and then worse.
I think it's starting to rebel against the 50$ makeup I bought!
It keeps on itching and feeling irritated when I put it on;
I have used it for two weeks, and am getthing this reaction now for some reason...
Maybe it's just my body's way of telling me to stop putting it on?
Not that I'm planning to listen to it for a while

Things I have learned this week:

-> I found an excellent and natural makeup remover!
Witch Hazel!
This baby removes the toughest makeup and mascara and it doesn't irritate my skin (a first...) and makes it prettier.
I don't even feel like I need the rose water, they affect my skin the same way.

-> I've also discovered I have developed an intolerance for my favourite Canadian breakfast :?
If I eat bacon and eggs I will experience excruciating pain throughout the entire day... It hurts so bad, it just isn't worth it...

-> Sourcream is the devil

-> Chocolate makes my skin feel better (I know, what the hell?!)

-> I am thirsty every 5 minutes... why is that?

-> I fiddled with the nutrient calculator and I have created the perfect formula! (for me). The point is not to eat ridiculous amounts of fruit, as I thought, but to have a variaty of different things! I will test it out starting today.

-> coconut milk is full of vitamins, but it tastes horrible :<

-> and lastly... to my horrific surprise, I've discovered that I prefer FISH over MEAT! Unheard of! Everyone who knows me would fall off their chairs if they read this... :0
(alas, I'm talking about cooked fish  )
I think salmon is the best thing in the whole whide world!

That's it for now,

I know it is tough, but I suggest way
more than just two weeks on the diet before adding any munch foods.
This will lessen the chance of, as you put it, a munch food, takeover.
ellen wrote: My skin has gotten better and then worse.
Yes, that makes sense, because you added munch foods.
This is a more likely reason than the new make up.
ellen wrote: -> Sourcream is the devil
Of all milk products, sourcream and butter are the least harmful
ones, containing little protein, and a lot of fat. Sourcream
is fermented, which makes it easier to digest. So, "the evil"
sounds quite harsh to me, especially when it tastes so damned good :)
ellen wrote: -> I am thirsty every 5 minutes... why is that?
Eating a lot of salty munch foods?

Canned coconut milk is not raw. Are you talking about the coconut
juice that is found inside coconuts, primarily in young coconuts/thai
coconuts? In that case, yes it is quite nutrient dense, and to me it
tastes delicious!

Have you tried raw meat yet?
Have you done more experimenting with raw fish?

No, I don't eat any salty things.
I get the thirstiest when I'm 100% on the diet.
Weird huh?

Augh,
I buy canned coconut milk, is that bad?
There's no other way for me to get it.

And it is the makeup though!
I swear I'm not losing it!
But maybe it's a lot of things at once that cause this makeup intolerance.
I feel fine until I put it on and then I get too hot, and my face starts itching, especially under my nose (like i'm gonna sneeze)

I am the weirdest person :S

really? sourcream is not the devil?
maybe it was something else...
I love sour cream :0

No I haven't tried raw meat... I will make my bf take me to a French resturant on V-day ^______^

Yep, that is weird :)

ellen wrote: I buy canned coconut milk, is that bad?

That is bad indeed :( Canned coconut milk has been
heated, and often contains conservatives and other
nasty chemicals.

Try to buy some young coconuts/thai coconuts.
I find them in Asian stores here in Norway, so
it should be possible to find in Canada, dont you
think? Inside these coconuts it is coconut juice.
It is clear, not milky as the coconut milk, but it tastes
very refreshing and contains some minerals and a
little vitamins. I recommend it! :)

Ok, I give up :)

Of all milk products, sour cream is like
the second or third least harmful
(butter and cold extracted ghee are probably even less harmful)
but it still is a munch food, and especially so if it has been
pasteurized! If you are to eat sour cream, or butter, make sure
to get non-pasteurized.

^__________^ you guys are cool!

You should call yourselves Wai's desciples! :)
I'm learning so many new things just from talking to you.

And damnit,
Is nothing in this world sacred anymore?!
they put drugs in baby formulas and chemicals in our cosmetics!
A person can't even get cocomut milk!
lol

I bought three cans.....................................................
next time I will ASK before I buy.
It's just that I saw it in the nutrient calculator and noticed that it 'perfected' my vitamin load.
Is the one in the calculator raw?

And yes, Fictor, we do have coconuts here. But I wouldn't know what to do with them and how to get the juice out and how to recognize a good coconut :|
I prefer to stick to fruits I know, because I bought a bag of lychees the other day and out of a bag I only found one that was tasty! >:0

Around here, if you buy canned coconut milk it is a thick liquid. I think they blend the coconut water with the meat of the coconut. If you just drain the liquid it is more like water.

If you don't like the taste of it why are you even concerned with it being bad or not? I'd say if you don't like it just forget about it. It doesn't contain any nutrients you can't obtain in other foods that you do like.

I'd suggest trying this.

Take a baby coconut, drain the liquid into a blender, scrape out all the meat (it is soft in baby coconuts), add a banana, blend till smooth and creamy, add a couple yolks, blend again for just a few seconds (use the lowest speed or if you are concerned about damaging the proteins blend with a fork or spoon).

You'll end up with a drink that tasted like a milkshake. I sometimes sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on it. This is one of my favourite tasting thngs, but you since you said you don't like coconut milk, I don't know if you'll like it.

If you try it, let me know what you think...

When it comes to make up, If you wouldn't feel safe eating it then don't put it on your skin.

Did you think this because it is high in fat? Many people assume that if something is high in fat than it is unhealthy.

I know people who wont eat avocados because they believe that they are unhealthy due to the fat conent, but will eat there fat free cookies by the handful.

I like coconut milk now.
I did put it with banana and egg yolks so its funny you do that too.

It was in Wai's nutrient calculator so i figured it's good... but i guess it's supposed to be raw.

i can't not put makeup on, I look like a disgusting freak without it and i hate myself as it is.

i thought sour cream is bad because dairy, not because it has fat in it.
and i never thought avocados can possibly bad for anyone....

Update!

Post by ellen »

UPDATE:

Week... (lost count) 7?

I'm losing the weight, very slowly.....
My set weight is 146 now, which makes me happy
because it was 150 a month ago.

I eat very little though,
b/c sometimes I don't have the time (University exam time!)
but mostly i'm not hungry (when I don't do anything).
munch foods keep me full for nearly a day :S

my skin is getting better,
though, last week i had the worst outbreak yet!
I don't even remember what I ate that could have been that bad...
but I think I didn't remove my makeup one night and fell asleep
and the next day freaked out and scratched at my face :X
it's almost all gone this week.

I'm slowly going 100% Wai...
not because I want to, mind you,
because my body is taking control over me...
I'm developing intolernces for almost all cooked foods
right after I eat something (even if it has less than 15g of protein)
I have indigestion.

so far I can eat ridiculous amounts of chocolate and sweets, rice, potatoes, vegetables, cooked fish without being bothered.

but i can't eat pasta, bacon, cooked eggs, pizza, any type of meat, burgers, nachos, shrimp (nooooooooo!).

I also ate a scary amount of custard and was ok,
but a little pasta made me sick.

the only thing so far that makes me break out is meat, (cooked) fish and milk.
but then again my skin isn't perfect and it has a lot of imperfections so there are probably other things that I don't notice that affect my skin badly.

I'm thinking of going on a 100% Wai diet for a month,
after exams are over, but I don't know if I have the strength to stay away from all the munch foods for a whole month.
maybe after that I will just not want to eat anything else but fruits anyways.

what do you think guys, do i have it in me? :P

Wow! No cooked meat hah!? Well that's a big change.
It seems as if you are already slowly changing your habits, so I'd say keep doing what you're doing and you'll get there. But be carefull to not force yoursef, as it might cause you to fall back. Better take it slow and steady I think.

Have you already tried the steak tartar? If so, what did you think of it? (Or have I missed this?)

Iris, you always give the best advice :D

No I didn't try it! :<
I did drag my bf to a french resturant but they had a set menu for V-day,
so we didn't have a choice in choosing a course.

And I can't find a place that serves steak tartare in Toronto,
I also think it's a seasonal thing :/

It's always very eay to tell other people what to do

Why don't you make the steak tartar yourself. You could even do it with a sharp knife, so you don't have to get a special grinder.
