Sugar vs Glucose+Fructose

I'm doing 2-3L of (strained) orange juice daily. This is going better than ever. No soiling or digestive problems.
I'm thinking about experimentating with sugar. I'm note sure if I should go for pure white table sugar, of a combination of glucose(dextrose)+ fructose.
I think 50%glucose+50%fructose may be better for teeth and slightly less chance to get digestive problems.
What do you guys think ?

Probably it's very individual when it comes to this. I have digestive problems with dextrose only, but no problems with white sugar.
Best is to just try it I guess.

Naturally, fruits contain both fructose and glucose (besides sucrose),
so that naturally, its probably best to ingest both (regarding uptake / utilization / gut flora)
And if you want to ingest both glucose and fructose, they better come together (as in sucrose),
as fructose utilization is most efficient in the form of sucrose.

Free fructose (5 to 50 gram) may be absorbed by the GLUT5 and GLUT2 transport proteins, but that capacity is limited,
though upregulated (particularly GLUT5) when the diet normally contains much free fructose.
But in the presence of sufficient glucose, it may also go through the sucrase related transport system (embedded in the membrane of the small intestine),
and the fructose is then glucose-dependent cotransported.
This system favours sucrose though (as in sucrose the fructose and glucose always come hand-in-hand),

I don't understand what you are exactly saying.
I want to compare: Option A: a mixture of 50% glucose+50% fructose vs Option B: 100% sucrose.

Would fructose utilization be more efficient if I go for the 100% sucrose, than if I go for the 50% glucose+50% fructose option ?

Yes, because in the case of sucrose, the glucose and fructose always arrive ' hand in hand' (at exactly the same time)
always facilitating the uptake through the sucrase-related transport system,
thus bypassing any possible capacity issue with the GLUT transport proteins.

Hm... interesting. So in theory white table sugar may be better digested than sugars in fruit, as in fruit you often have much free fructose. Right ?

Yes, but not if there is no issue with the GLUT system capacity.

Ah intersting, makes me understand fructose malabsorption a little better.

What about adding pure glucose (dextrose) instead of table sugar to OJ ?

That should be fine, though it will spike insulin much more than sucrose,
as fructose goes a different pathway.
Sucrose is also much cheaper...
