About muscle and weight gain...

Post by Sand86id »

Hi.. this might seem like a silly question... but is actually one that i'm curious of...
Does growing muscle (with the same daily calorie intake) means that we're gonna gain weight?
Or we will lose weight, but offset that by looking more sturdier?

It is not a silly question at all.
It depends; on how many calories you burn during exercise, and on when you eat your meals.
Also, 'the same calorie intake' may be a very deceptive notion.
In general, people do not eat the same every day,
nor do they consume the same amount of calories every day,
nor is their energy expenditure the same every day.

It also depends on your workout regime, eg how much the muscles are rested in between exercise.
You may loose weight, or gain weight.

The bottom line is: you can achieve whatever you want, if you do everything right in accordance.

Well.. if you put it like that.. then yes, you're right.
5 bananas i'm having today will have different kcal amount than the 5 bananas i had yesterday simply because they're not the same 'size' / nutrient content.

Finding how to do it right, that is the tricky part.
Not used to listening what my body tells me.. I guess it will need sometime for me to adapt to listening energy hunger with precision

Yes, that takes time and dedication.
The good news is that you get better at it inevitably, just by trying to listen more carefully.
