Resting 1.5 hours after ingest protein

Post by Seth »

I am wondering why this is necessary and whether it applies to bad protein as well as good.

Dirty protein may cause acne anyway, so not being physical active afterwards will not keep your skin clear.

Physical activity requires energy. Digestion also takes a lot of energy. When physical active, there is less energy (and blood) available for proper digestion, which may leave more protein not completely separated into amino acids. Just like dirty protein (and salt), these peptides may end up in the skin, temporarily (before they are broken down at night) making your true skin retain more water, pinching off sebum canals.

If the body needs energy for physical activity, it might also use part of the digested protein, instead of using it for the intended purposes.

So in the case of dirty protein it makes little or no difference whether one is physically active right after or not? It sounds like in general it is better to rest even if it doesn't guarantee a person from the ill effects of the dirty protein.
