Over-consuming protein leads to vitamin/mineral deficiency?

Post by Thomas »

Wai states that relatively more B vitamins are requried to process redundant protein.
Does this mean eating too much protein (regardless of whether it is raw or not) can lead to a vitamin dificiency?

Only if you would eat very one sided, but even then its unlikely to result in actual deficiencies (rather an 'imbalance') because the body is very capable in adapting the absorption rate.
If you would only eat canned proteinacous foods already low in B vitamins you might succeed though.
