Wai baby

Post by RRM »

My daughter Trix (2940 grams) was born in August, 2011.
Throughout the pregnancy, mama ate a normal cooked diet, but with fresh raw egg yolks daily,
and all the animal food she ate, i cooked for her, by using slow cooking (90 degrees Celsius max).
Once born, Trix was breastfed exclusively.
Initially, she was a little bit small and short.
Here she is, just one day old:

Congratulations with your baby, RRM. She's looking very healthy and pretty.

That she may live a long, vital and healthy life and eat a lot of raw foods to make her smart and strong.

If she eats little to no processed food for a few years and then tries to eat it, I'm almost sure she will dislike it naturally. I still have some receptors that are very sensitive to the addictive substances, but if you start early you won't have this effect I guess.

I hope so, but im not sure about it,
as people may also develop a habit for alcohol or cigarettes later in life...

That was exactly our response!
Look at this one, here she is just 1 week old.
That day, i came home to find that mama had punctured Trix' earlaps and gave her some earrings;
i know its dangerrous at that age, but she survived...

can you atleast get mama to use some kind of plastic earrings where the part penetrating the skin isn't metallic? cause it can poison babies or w/e
but wow she has a lot of hair

Yes, its particularly dangerous because a 1-week old baby has a hardly developed defense system,
and through that wound (the punctured hole) she was directly exposed to all kinds of bacteria and viruses.
wow she has a lot of hair
Ha ha, yes, she has!
Mama is from Ghana and daddy is white, so she gets nice hair.
Here she is 2 months old. Getting a little bigger (and bitten by mosquitos).
No egg yolks yet. Just mama's milk.

Her mother is from Ghana, and social eating (even sharing a plate) is a big thing among Ghanians.
So, that's just what worries me a bit.
But hey, i will have to learn to let go... :)

Here she is also 2 months old:

Thank you, dime.
When Trix was almost 3 months old, i started giving her fresh raw egg yolk.
Initially just one drop daily, then 2 drops etc.
Since then she gets 1 egg yolk daily, with a little vanilla sugar added.
She really loves it and always wants more.

Here she is 3 months and 1 week old, and getting bigger:

That's great, as I think egg yolks are especially good for babies!
It's good that mama let's you give her raw egg yolk! I don't think my girlfriend would ever let me, if we'd have a baby :)
Has she ever been sick from the egg yolks?

Yes, like egg yolk, human milk contains cholesterol and relatively much fat.

No, she has never been sick from it.
The defense system of a newborn baby rapidly develops, according to what you 'feed' it.
Naturally, babies are triggered to put anything in their mouth,
so that they ingest all kinds of bacteria, viruses etc, so that their immune system gets trained;
much like 'feeding' a software firewall with the identity of all kinds of viruses to make it more effective.
Giving Trix initially only a drop of egg yolk daily is like vaccinating her, so yes, its absolutely safe.
Maybe this Wai baby can set an example for your girlfriend.
Im pretty sure she would like to take a look at the pics. Girls dig cute babies...

And even if she would be open to the idea,
she would probably change her mind after talking about it to her mother / MD / friends.
Im very fortunate that my mother in law is from a poor countryside in Ghana,
where they traditionally give fresh raw egg yolks to children, both preventative as well as to sick children as 'medication'.
So, when my wife talked about it to her mother, her mother was all on my side :)

Trix, 4 months old.
She is no longer a little bit small and short.
Both weight and height are a little bit above average now...
