Oscar and Dionysus: Drinking orangde juice and fat constantly throughout the day sounds extremely interesting from an energy level perspective, but I have heard about so many fruitarians who had to quit their high sugar diets because of teeth problems. Thoughts? What do you think about having maybe ...

Low-carb foods and blood sugar

1. Does anybody have any good advice on how to keep blood sugar levels as stable as possible throughout the day? During a typical day I eat a couple of apples, some avocados, a little olive oil, some cashews and a raw egg yolk or two. How could I best eat these foods to keep blood sugar stable all d...

Oscar: I have found that sticking to foods with low glycemic index works well for me. One such food is the apple, which belongs in the subacid group of fruits, as opposed to the banana which is a sweet fruit with much higher GI. Is the switch from sweet fruits to subacid fruits a threat to the teeth...

Safety of natural (as opposed to synthetical) supplements

I have read many reports on the risks associated with taking dietary supplements; according to these, too much of certain vitamins or minerals can be harmful for the body. Does the same logic apply to natural supplements, such as spirulina?

Any help is much appreciated,
Andy.

Iodine

I am a university student and I remember reading a book by Bertrand Russell a while back, in which he wrote something like "a deficiency in iodine makes a bright man slow". I sometimes experience a hard time concentrating on school work, and would like to make sure that I get enough of iodine. Do yo...

Fruit juices, digestion and absorption of nutritients

Hi everybody, I've been thinking about something lately; I have heard that when the body digests solid food, different nutritents are absorbed by different parts of the intestines as the food moves through the digestive tract. What happens when we rely heavily on juices? I guess juices move through ...

Dentists always tell you to stay away from everything that tastes good! Is that a genetical thing or something...? :)

One more thing Oscar:

What do you think about drinking hot water with some honey before going to bed? Devastating to teeth?

Oscar: Thanks a lot for your reply. I guess the only issue I still have with the Wai diet is the problem with tooth health. I just can not see how sipping juice throughout the day, let's say 10-15 times, could be anything but damaging to the teeth. I feel like my teeth are constantly bathing in suga...

Oscar's position on tooth paste?

Oscar: I remember you have written some things about the use of tooth paste on this forum, but I was wondering if you would just care to give me a short summary on your position? I eat only sweet fruits and egg yolks - do you think I should use regular tooth paste on a daily basis? If not, are there...

Celibacy

Hey, I have read a number of studies where it has been shown that mice who are restricted from sexual intercourse, live longer than those who lead a normal sex life (whatever that is for a mouse). I have heard claims that the same effect is evident in humans who refrain from sex, although I doubt th...

Oscar: Do you think it would be sensible to try to intake more juice at the same time over a period of time, to see if the teeth will benefit from this? I guess one idea would be to reduce the number of daily juice intakes to maybe five or six, or would this cause too severe shifts in blood sugar le...

Keeping your blood sugar optimal + teeth issues

Hello all, 1. In your experience, what is the optimal amount of juice to intake at the same time (along with olive oil) to keep your blood sugar as stable as possible? Obviously it would also be interesting to know how often you drink this amount (for instance "1 dl of orange juice with one tablespo...

Orange juice and stomach ache?

I have been experiencing great success with the Wai diet over the last six months. There is just one thing that does not seem to fit me, and I am wondering if other people have had the same problem - I have a very sensitive stomach, and whenever I drink orange juice (or juice from any other acid fru...

Sleep habits

Hey guys! Long time no see. :) I hope everything is well with all of you. I posted the following thread in a raw food forum earlier today, and thought it might be interesting to get some input from Wai people as well. Peace! * * * * * * I think the influence of good sleep habits on health can not be...
