Check out this thread and also this one The most important thing I have found regarding quality oil is the RIPENESS of the olives. Treat olive oil just like any other fruit, in that if you experience any sort of acidity or burning sensation in your throat, this is certainly not quality oil. You shou...

I have been on and off Wai's diet for six months and have maintained good muscle mass the entire time. I now eat no more than three egg yolks per day, or .25 pounds of sashimi (depending on whether or not I work out). Try starting out with a couple of egg yolks mixed into a berry smoothie, and you w...

Wai says we weren't mean to eat grains and legumes b/c we can't eat them raw--that they'd be toxic to us. Well, whose to say we weren't meant, by nature, to discover fire and start cooking our food. Cooking food creates mutagenic substances for which our bodies are not genetically adapted to handle...

Normal cooked/raw Paleo Diet as alternative to Wai
I believe the Wai diet to be superior to a traditional Paleo Diet, however, based on past experiences with a paleo diet, I believe for some who are unable to maintain Wai's diet, a cooked/raw Paleo Diet may be a better option. I went one year on a paleo diet, which emphasizes lean meat/seafood, vegg...

"Listening" to the body regarding lifting/walking
On a normal cooked-foods diet it is often necessary to 'force' oneself to lift or go for a jog in spite of not feeling like due to the influence of certain chemicals on neurotransmitters in brain (for instance, sedating chemicals). My question is, being that this diet enables one to correctly listen...

Over-consuming protein leads to vitamin/mineral deficiency?
Wai states that relatively more B vitamins are requried to process redundant protein.
Does this mean eating too much protein (regardless of whether it is raw or not) can lead to a vitamin dificiency?

Coated Tongue
While on this diet, my tongue gains a white coat.
I believe that this condition is related to a decrease in beneficial bacteria, so I would assume that consuming overly acidic fruit is the culprit (or maybe my olive oil is from not well ripened olives)...
Anyone else get this?

This diet is perfect for maintaining steady secretion of insulin, provided you consume small meals (say, one piece of fruit) followed by sufficient fat (general rule is 2 grams carbs for every gram of fat). This diet is also perfect for hair, because not only do you absorb all essential B vitamins, ...

Gavriel: I have heard of people eating raw bone marrow (from organic, grass-fed sources, of course) But, why do you say that animal fat must be very fresh? I mean, I can certainly picture several reasons for doing so, but I'm curious as to what problems arise in eating animal fat that is shipped fre...

Well, if anyone wants they can check out Gavriel's home page (a link to it from his posts). I think his photos speak for themselves. Also, I can post some photos of before and after an evolutionary diet (not Wai's diet, but similar). There is no doubt that you look much better on a paleolithic diet ...

Omega 3: EPA versus DHA
With regard to long-chain omega 3 fatty acids, which is more beneficial in terms of strengthening/expanding neural tissue, 22:5 or 22:6?
I can buy DHA omega 3 eggs, but our only source of EPA seems to be fish.
How much of a difference does it make?

The protein is not what yields those feelings. That is owed to the clean cholesterol (there is much cholesterol in even one egg). If it were for the protein, one could obtain a similar effect from eating turkey, but this is not the case. By the way, I eat red meat and seafood, but those foods are co...
