Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

Update: yes, potatoes are gonna happen. More importantly, I've discovered a disconnect between the amount of calories I was getting 'on paper' versus how many I was actually taking in. I've been losing weight because I had been getting less calories than I thought. And so, this development is positi...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

Now that I know that I should avoid fructose, I've been thinking about potatoes. I know that they are not Wai-endorsed, but I think that they would benefit me. Dextrose is fine, but it offers no nutrients. And I cannot have fruits. When I look over the list of things that I may need more of, potatoe...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

Have you always been 123 lb, or were you more at some point? I'm a thin ectomorph type, and so I'm always going to be fairly light. Within the last few years, my weight has ranged from 118 lb (which was concerning) to 139 lb (but my waist was a fat 32-33 inches). I typically hover in the 125-130 ra...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

I'm tired of being 123 lb, and so I'm going up to 2800 calories. Added more dextrose to get there. My waist measured 28.75 inches today. Otherwise, same as before. Fast all day, work, train, wait 30 minutes, get my eating done in about 2.5 hours because I chew slowly. I don't feel full when I'm done.

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

Keep posting! :) Did you dissolve the dextrose in water or just sprinkled it onto your food? Direct from spoon to mouth. Maybe its just fructose malabsorption. Maybe. I'm pretty sure at this point that fructose is the cause. The dextrose is working well so far. I'm going to slightly tweak my plan o...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

Yesterday I tried about 8 tablespoons (100 g) of dextrose. I did not perceive any digestive problems. Thus it seems that my problems are specifically related to fructose. Tomorrow I'm going to try 15 tablespoons. If I continue to have no problems, I'll do 15 tablespoons every day. I feel like maybe ...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

None of the grocery/health/vitamin stores here have dextrose. (I checked 9 places.) I ordered it online, but I had been hoping to pick up some dextrose today and get started. So I guess it will be another week before I can start experimenting with it. I've got the 3-hour eating window going now. 18:...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

So, you think that fructose may be the issue for you? Please try dextrose to test that hypothesis. Good suggestion. In the interest of science, I'll try dextrose to see if I react the same way. But I'm still weary of making carbs in general a significant part of my diet. If it is vitamin K you are ...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

I have noticed several times that I can tolerate carbs much better when I eat different variety of fruits. If I stick to only one or two fruits for several weeks, then I start to develop symptoms and loose weight (like cramps, eyes shuts, arrhythmia with bananas and oranges). I now eat peaches, nec...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

Ahum. That site claims that carbs cause disease. You said that you had this issue from childhood (your whole life). If the latter is true, what exactly is the problem with carbs in your body? Or you lacking some enzyme? similar? I don't know for sure but, yes, my best guess is that I have lower lev...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

When my OJ runs out at the end of this week, I'm not going to buy anymore. Even 24 oz of OJ causes minor digestive problems for me. (At 48 oz the problems were obvious.) I've had digestive problems with carbs my whole life. I recognized that something was wrong even as a child, but I didn't know why...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

Ok, I agree with you. I'm going to try 122 g of protein and not reducing the fish. I'll see whether my cravings are satisfied at that level.

I'm thinking about cutting the window down to 2.5 hours. And so I'll still update with possible changes soon.

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

Of all amino acids, methionine by far inhibits autophagy the most. Methionine (protein) restriction induces autophagy. Methionine content in relevant meat products: 1 chicken drumstick (118 calories): 379 mg 2 sardines (50 calories): 175 mg 1 oz lobster (25 calories): 148 mg 1 oz chicken liver (32 ...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

I've been on Wai Warrior for 3 months now. Here's a recap. I compared my stats today with 3 months ago. I'm 1.5 lb lighter (128 lb then, 126.5 lb now). The only change in my measurements is that my biceps have gained from 12.75 inches then to 13.25 inches now. My waist is still 29.5 inches. The most...

Re: JeffC the extreme ninja warrior

I made a change, substituting more orange juice for less beef. My calorie splits now are 50% fat, 30% carb, 20% protein. I undid this change. Back to less orange juice and more beef. Calorie splits 64% fat, 16% carb, 20% protein. I was picking up signs from my body that it didn't appreciate that mu...
