Re: Protein before or after exercise?
When switching for a couple of weeks on a 99% protein diet (no more sugar), what would you recommend for having enough energy before working out and for not losing muscles ?

Re: Already taking methionine; whats the next step?
There are many different fish, and the pollution levels differ very much. What makes you think that all fish are heavily polluted? The ones I have access to, are. Besides, my choice is only limited to raw tuna (mercury) or raw farmed salmon (which is very polluted). Eating these once a week, maybe ...

Re: Already taking methionine; whats the next step?
Its quite simple. the Wai diet is about real food, not about supplements. Supplements can never replace whole foods. But in the past, you did propose some amino acids for people who really needed them. How about fish? Beef? Fish, I just told you it's too risky, they are too much polluted. Beef, it'...

Re: Already taking methionine; whats the next step?
yes, but I don't have choice anyway. So which amino acids should I add ? Living on supplements is not an option. They may only supplement your food, not replace it. And yes, there are other options. There are always eggs available, anywhere, and im sure that in the area where you live, also some of...

so yes, they are essential for maintaining muscle mass.

Re: Already taking methionine; whats the next step?
Yes but loss of these nutrients won't cause muscle loss. It's what I'm trying to prevent nowRRM wrote:I know that you mean for protein content,
but if you replace all fish for supplementary amino acids,
you will miss out on various nutrients, even if you just want those amino acids for their protein.

Re: Already taking methionine; whats the next step?
Fish is not just protein, but a whole bunch of other nutrients as well, including vitamin E, D and omega 3 fats. So, amino acids cannot replace fish. At best, amino acids can be a useful supplement to your diet. Supplements cannot replace (essential elements of) your diet. I mean for the proteins c...

Re: Already taking methionine; whats the next step?
I would like to reduce my fish intake (because I can't find unpolluted ones where I live), so I would like to supplement with some amino acids. I usually take 140 gr of salmon per day. If I could stop completely (and just eat maybe once a week) or reduce at 60 gr per day, it would be great. How shou...

Re: Fiber
If you find it again, please tell me. I'm interested to know if it's white rice or wheat.fiber in rice (or maybe it was in wheat, I can't find the study anywhere..) is like crystaline sharp glass which can make micro cuts in the intestines.
RRM, what do you think about this ?

Re: Fiber
I often hear that too much fiber (over 30 g) is not good. But when I enter, for example, 12 bananas in the nutrient calculator it says almost 34 g of fiber. So it is bad too ?

Is it true that if you put some vegetables under the sun they get more vitamin D ? Sounds very strange to me.

So the concept of minerals being inorganic or organic is not realted to assimilatability? It certainly is related. But either the relation is relative and not absolute, or water also contains 'organic' minerals. What about mineral supplements? Is it true than because mineral supplements are inorgan...

Re: Vaccinations
Yes, but then again, the likelyhood of getting any of a number of diseases has decreased enormously because of mass vaccinations... Without these, epidemics would reoccur, with great risks. Sorry for the late answer RRM. Answers can be so long that I think it's better you watch this. Among others, ...
