Re: teeth

I follow the Wai recommendations on ripeness of fruit, but due to other health problems had demineralized (decalcified) teeth, and some serious erosion of the surface, some time ago. While it is not 'natural,' the material I used was very effective at remineralizing teeth. It is called MI Paste and ...

Re: ear wax

Can you describe ear candling for me (how it is used; what it does)?

Re: (safe) Orange juice flasks

To be a freelance musician you have to be enterprising already, no? I have a Camelbak too.... The valve can get a little moldy inside (the hard part with the channel through to the bottle, not the softer silicon bite "sleeve" that goes over it....) I clean it a variety of ways, usually threading som...

Re: (safe) Orange juice flasks

More than considerate, it is practical because I have had leaks (or a few times, the entire cap came off a drinking container, dousing me with juice) in past.... I just swirl it in the container. Also, I use dextrose (very finely powdered) or confectioner's (caster I think it is called elsewhere) su...

Re: (safe) Orange juice flasks

(I tried to edit the above to add an observation, but the b-board software doesn't allow it)-- I wished to add that I would like to make, or find, a tall bite-valve container divided into two vertical compartments: That way one could stock both juice and clear water at once, instead of using separat...

Re: (safe) Orange juice flasks

The best part is the bite valve design--- The user doesn't have to tip back her/his head to drink, but simply bites down, which draws the liquid up. You can use it in class or in other places where it would be impolite/out of place to keep tipping one's head back to drink from a water/juice bottle. ...

Re: Hitch-hiking diet

I was doing that because it sounded so delicious when you said you made salmon that way (half-dried; chewy but soft) --

I will make it more dry!

Re: ear wax

So after reading the entire thread again, my 2 basic questions are: 1. Olive oil or mineral oil? 2. What does one do if one's ear wax treatments are working well with the above, and one regularly (or just occasionally) gets water trapped in the ear? (as after regular poolswimming or showering)--- us...

Re: ear wax

I do not know how to use the bulb to extract wax either, absent using water in it to expel into the ear (and flush out hard wax)... Is there a good way? Instead of the bulb, I use a small hard plastic syringe with a broad plastic end; it is for children's ears but I bought it to use when I realized ...

Re: Hitch-hiking diet

It actually seems worst when I leave it quite chewy (higher water content).

I will try again, and be very systematic in my observation....

Re: Book: Four Fish & fish oil

Thank you, RRM.... The bottled fish oils, it always seemed to me, almost assuredly contain oxysterols.I do eat some raw fish now but do not take these bottled marine oils for this reason; the information you provided confirms that. I eat raw squid as well, dehydrated or just thawed and sliced. There...

Re: Hitch-hiking diet

I have gone back and forth on eating dehydrated chicken, prepared at the temperatures mentioned here on Wai... In such warmth, perhaps bacteria multiply? Though without water, they could not survive (?) the full dehydration process. (???) I nearly always get sick (intestinally) from my home-dehydrat...

Re: Book: Four Fish

I have not read it, but am about to. I do not eat a lot of seafood, as I found my body had extremely high levels of mercury several years ago. The short-term levels dropped dramatically when I had amalgam fillings removed a few months ago. I have become very attentive to sources of mercury, and I am...

water

There are shower heads sold that are meant to filter out various things in water, like chlorine... I think f they filter out minerals they would become gummed up pretty quickly. Many people of course have water softeners installed in their homes if they have a well, but for travel, I still find that...
