Circadian rhythm

I'm curious why nurses in Canada are very unhealthy (they are 'on their feet' walking all day, and many are overweight, based on my mom's experience as a nurse and being around many other nurses). Aren't they constantly getting low level excersisce?

low level exercise

I'm constantly getting low level excersie, walking all day, 'on my feet' while teaching. During the 8 hour day I probably spend 5 hours walking, 1 hour standing, and 2 hours sitting. But I notice when I do a little running, or play soccer with my boys, my mood increases dramatically.

Re: Barefoot running & Alexander Technique

I just bought a pair of these, http://barefootrunningshoes.org/zem-shoes/ The 02s without the lobster-claw to thing. They look more or less like water-shoes, and I'm hoping no one at my work minds. They feel a little tight when I wear socks, but the guy who sold them to me said they *should* be tigh...

Re: My current diet

Do you know the name of the diagnoses; I'm not sure what exactly to ask her and feel she may take it more seriously if I know exactly what test she needs to do.

Re: Electrical juice press = good investment

Yes, it looks exactly ike the Brevil, though the Brevil is supposed to be stainless steel even on the outside, and the blades are aluminum but coated in stainless steel (I read one review that claimed the steel came off the blades after a couple of years and exposed some aluminum).

Re: Electrical juice press = good investment

Well my juicer broke a few days ago. Engine just plain old stopped. I brought it back, the repair guy tested it, and it smoked a bit. Should be returned any day now.

I wonder if it wasn't meant for 30 oranges / 3 litres a day? Or I was juicing too fast / aggressively.

Re: My current diet

Ok, well I mentioned it to my dermatologist, and she said it looks like seborrhoeic dermatitis (she's only looked at it, not any kind of testing.) Should I go by this? If not, what kind of testing do I need? The drug she gave me is more or less effective, but she also told me the condition is chroni...

Re: My current diet

Ok, well I think I specifically have Seborrhoeic dermatitis; as a baby I had cradle cap and still get dandruff badly if I don't continually wash it. The medication I've been taking has been having a positive affect on the right side of my nose, but as you say it can thin-out / damage the skin in the...

Re: My diet

Yes after years I'm starting to think it is worth it. Especially as I'm doing a lot (getting better at guitar and learning Russian) when I'm eating well, wheras when I'm not I tend to waste a lot of time.

Re: My current diet

Ok, I did number 1 and it seems to have worked. I'm also thinking I will buy new shoes. I saw a dermatologist for the eczema I get on my nose today and she gave me Lotriderm cream, Lotriderm cream contains two active ingredients, betamethasone diproprionate and clotrimazole. Betamethasone diproprion...

My diet

I have recently been eating salmon almost every night. It's expensive but I can afford it so I guess it's worth it. I'd be spending about $8 on salmon and $8 on OJ each day, with another $3 on eggs. Basically $20 a day on food which I think is triple what most people spend (what I used to spend).

Re: Electrical juice press = good investment

Fortunately I didn't buy the Princess ;) I'm happy with my Breville but actually find the greatest work is in carrying the oranges from the grocery store to my house. I've been buying 50 orages every two days (I should up it to 3 in order to get my calories) and they're very heavy. Maybe I'll start ...

Re: Electrical juice press = good investment

Update - Just bought the juicer and made juice. Surprised at how loose-fitting all the components are. I can't compare it to other juicers in the same category, but it cost me 33 dinar (about $115 or 46 Euro); usually it goes for double that. I get about 100ml per mid-sized orange, and have to rinse...

Re: Electrical juice press = good investment

Concerning the breville, " Was VERY disappointed to find that the strainer basket and metal container with spout were both made of aluminum. Would much rather see stainless steel. Breville went to the trouble of making the exterior housing stainless, why not the more important innards? 3 stars becau...
