I am going to stop drinking juice when I walk and see what happens. I have been doing this exercise for 2 months. I have gained weight in this time. I know I'm gaining still weight from the restrictive diet I went on last winter. Could that possibly stop me from losing weight when I walk? I have bee...

Re: weight loss takes effort?
anyhow, I'm thinking (from my expierience) that to lose weight you must radically cut calories till you get where you want, then go about eating wai style (no addictive stuff). Did you mean at the same time, or first cut calories for a few months or so and then start eating more again? Because the ...

Re: Juice, walking and weight loss
Fat and glycogen are simultanously being used for energy while walking. If you would have to rely on stored energy only, your energy would go down way to fast, and would prevent you from keeping on walking. Without the energy ingested, it would really become a challenge that increasingly gets less ...

Juice, walking and weight loss
I think I misunderstand the glycogen method. Let's say I have been walking for 2 hours, sipping juice, taking in the amount of calories I am supposed to burn during this time. The carbs to fat ratio is 3:1. Isn't that counterproductive for weight loss? If I have enough stored glycogen, along with mo...

Nutrients and harmful activities
I have a question about nutrient absorption.
When on the this diet, about how long does it take for all the vitamins to be absorbed from a 100-200 calorie meal of fruit and oil? How about animal food?

Your ankle problem is due to excess pressure from walking with high heels all this while. Did you have bunions while you were on high heels? I don't think so. I never had this type of pain the whole time I wore heels. I did not get bunions either. Never tired to run a marathon in them, though. Have...

Foot pain and shoe insoles
As you may remember from my previous thread, I've been having problems with walking. I switched from high heels to flats and started experiencing foot and ankle pain when taking long walks. I tried arch support insoles but that didn't seem to help. So, would it be a good idea to get some higher pric...

Your muscle glycogen storage can only hold 1200 calories and it can't increase. By emptying them by walking, you decrease the glycogen in the depot, so that when you eat, you'll store them back up eventually. Did you mean activity? Because they don't get lower after constant inactivity. The longer ...

CurlyGirl, I check the calculator occasionally, and could use more vitamins but I feel I definitely get enough fats and egg yolks. I'm not normally depressed. I still haven't figured out how to know what to eat before submitting that day to the calculator. It's confusing because I eat different amou...

CurlyGirl, I wear heels because they make me feel more elegant and strong. Plus, I like the sensation. It is not such a painful thing once you find the right shoe. The correct posture and balance adjustments are also key. But some pain is inevitable. I agree that shoes need some arch support, and I ...
