Re: The Appendix, Candida & Coconut oil remedy
I also just started it today, all fine so far. I'm thinking to eat some egg yolks though, I don't like the idea of living without protein for a couple of days. They are pretty easily digested so I don't think it should have much impact on the detox.

Re: High glucose diet vs high fat diet
Carbs are much more reactive than fat since they need less oxygen to oxidize; fat simply turns into energy slower. MCFAs may function like carbs in the sense that they are very easily digested, but they'll give you less energy per second than carbs. If you ask me a balancing carbs/fat would be super...

Re: My diet diary
I'd think the cravings are combination of both -- not enough calories plus the psychological hunger. You can test, eat some day more during the day and notice if you still get those cravings in the night. So the calories problem is quite simple to solve, just eat more. The psychological is more comp...

Re: EHEC bacteria
Yeah I'd guess the seriously ill people are probably very old or with very bad immune systems. It shouldn't be such a problem for healthy people, the media are probably exaggerating it all. Btw, if you live in Germany, what kind of low mineral waters are there.. I am used to a norwegian brand and du...

Re: EHEC bacteria
I wouldn't worry that much, I actually live in this area in north Germany. And I'm still eating fish and eggs and fruits. Obviously, avoid those tomatoes/cucumbers/etc. You can live for 6 days without meat/fish/egg if you're scared, nuts should work and be safer I guess. People have lived with no fo...

Re: The Appendix and Candida
Have you heard of "coconut oil detox"? Supposedly you'll get rid of candida in three days. But it induces a really strong detox due to the massive die-off, so I'd be careful. EDIT by RRM Later , after having tried the "coconut oil detox", Dime wrote: I still can't eat coconut oil or even just think ...

Re: Newbie with a few questions
Heh I'm also heading to the Canarian in a week :) I myself am strongly against sun creams.. not sure why I've never liked using them. Too much chemicals, greasiness, etc. I'd rather take different preventive measures: go to swimming in the morning/evening (some sun is healthy ;)). Otherwise, especia...

Re: the gallbladder / gall stones?
You could do liver/gallbladder flush in order to remove those stones (if there are any). You basically eat only apples/apple juice for a couple of days, they contain malic acid which is supposed to soften the stones, and then you drink a large amount of olive oil at once (like half a cup) in order t...

Re: Eggs; how to separate the yolk/white
Heh, that's completely opposite from my experience. I used to also eat the yolks together with the bag, before I learned about the wai diet. I remember it as a very yucky experience, it was leaving some really bad aftertaste in the mouth and even produced burps with the same bad taste. I actually th...

Re: My Daily Eating Plan
The problem is the acids (and especially lemon is acidic) dissolve the tooth enamel and it's not so easy to rebuild that thing back.

Re: New to Wai diet, need motivation
The main problem I find with oranges is that it's quite hard to tell if they are ripe enough or not. Very often they become moldy if I keep them for some time. But yeah, if you're physically active the juice is very helpful.

If they are wiling to buy you more that's great. I myself don't eat oranges that much anymore, maybe a couple per day (and orange juice not at all). But of course I substitute with other fruits, e.g. apples, bananas (bananas seem to offer more calories/nutrients than oranges for the same price), etc.

I'd be careful with that lemon juice, it will really 'whiten' your teeth. If you really need to drink it make sure to use straw.
Spreading out the yolks is certainly a good idea I'd say.

Btw, be careful on how much coconut oil you eat. As far as I know it may cause temporary hyperthyroidism-like symptoms the first couple of days you start eating it, so if you have never eaten it before take it slowly.

Re: New to Wai diet, need motivation
The oil sugar ratio - I can't really say. It sounds like you take a lot of oil to make up for the sugars you're not getting, which might make you feel sluggish and tired.. Not necessarily, the coconut oil has saturated fat which is much better as an energy source the than unsaturated fat in olive o...
