Re: Novidez's Journey - From non-Wai to Wai

Novidez, try to take it slowly. IF is difficult to do and it is stressful, stress hormones raise when you are fasting. Switching to a new diet is similarly stressful until you adapt to it. Whatever other changes you are making add yet more fuel to the fire. Try to do and adapt to one (small) thing a...

Re: Slow cooking vs Steam cooking

Steam is 100C, I don't think it's any different from boiling.

Slow cooking is better assuming the temperature is below boiling.

Re: "Meditation" debate

Go Aytundra! And tell your teacher: hey teacher, I'm here to learn X, not meditate..
We sleep 8 hours a day, that's plenty enough meditation for one day I'd say.. not sure why would anyone want to waste any more time trying to shutdown their brain while awake.

Re: ketogenic diet

Hey panacea, what is the point you are trying to make summed up in one sentence?
Ketogenic diet improves autophagy processes in the cells? All cells? Some cells (which depend on glucose for energy)?

Re: "Ketogenic" metabolism

I believe you could cover micronutrients with organ meat, although often they are disproportionately high in certain nutrients (e.g. vitamin A in liver).
Still, getting enough raw fat would be quite an even bigger hassle I'd imagine.

Re: Beating Addiction

Well make sure you sleep on the side, apparently it helps remove toxins from the brain :)

Re: Beating Addiction

If this is the case, I'd think
1. lose as much (fat) weight as possible
2. live in a toxin-free environment afterwards
is the best solution.

Same experience, one day max, less if it's been in the fridge before. 2-3 days in the fridge is ok.

Re: Warming up raw meat

Yes I have same conclusion, it could be mainly applicable to hardly digestible legumes, beans, vegetables and similar tough plants.
I can't imagine it ever being healthier than slow cooking for animal foods.

Re: Warming up raw meat

I've read some articles saying that pressure cooking is actually healthier than regular boiling/steaming, because it's much faster and this supposedly results in less micronutrient loss as well as less heat toxins created.

Re: How fast can weight be gained?

Ah yes, then eating extra fat would work better. Although there is a limit on how much fat you can digest. Be careful of steatorrhea, especially avoid too much nuts as a fat source. Perhaps the best way is combining fat and carbs (to spike insulin which will store fat to adipose tissue)?
