About stopping the consumption of fruits, I know you meant it ironically, but for those of us who have consistent teeth problems, it's probably a wise thing to start thinking about remedies, whether it be eating less sweet fruits - cucumber and tomatos, or taking in the fruit with a straw (which I h...

I find that sipping fruit or drinking blended juices throughout the day is the most harmful. Just personal experience. My teeth react right away.

Also, calling one or two cases "overwhelming evidence" sounds kinda quick jumping to conclusions to me. Hardly a scientific approach either. Come on, OSCAR. Type in Fruitarian and teeth and do a search yourself. Here is an example. In bold is the kind of dismissive attitude that's particularly irks...

Thanks for clearing that up, Huntress :D I was worried about parasites making me drowsy. I finally turned around the clock and this morning, I woke up at 6:00 am. Was that me?!! Anyhow, I'm preparing for my thesis defense and I have to get up early tomorrow too. Only, I don't seem to have a 24-hour ...

And it is my understanding, it is very bad for your teeth in the long run. Normally yes, but on the Wai diet all bets are off. After 13 or so years RRM's teeth should be all gone, but they aren't. Also, the same would go for (regularly) eating acid fruits, not only juice. I'm skeptical about this a...

Hi, I found a blogger's personal account of his Vipassana experience. It's interesting and you can find his blog over here: http://www.princeroy.org/ Fair Warning: this will be a long post. If you have no interest in meditation, you might want to skip this one. My Vipassana Encounter I want to descr...

Corinne: Thanks a lot for your reply! I am not surprised by your positive experiences; everyone who's gone to a retreat seems to have loved it (apart from Chin Chin's yoga teacher, apparently :)) Hi Andyville, I think you misunderstood. Thinking about "what the hell am I doing here" is just part of...

I've been doing meditation and breathing techniques on and off since I was twelve. I kind of had to to overcome anxiety at the time - I was a very anxious kid, and meditation and Qi Gong changed that within 6 months. I wanted to try the Vipassana technique out because I'm interested in finding out t...

Feeling drowsy

I've been feeling really drowsy lately. Have I eaten a parasite? What are the symptoms?

I'm thinking of doing one of these retreats sometime this year, most likely in the Far East. Corinne said that the food was very good (cooked vegetarian), but not Wai. I wonder if it will be local cuisine in the Far East? Personally, I don't see myself keeping up with the Wai diet when I go back to ...
