Brazil Nuts in Europe. Who? Where?

Post by Roman »

I know these three links you gave for Brazil Nuts:

www.sunorganicfarm.com
www.nutsonline.com
www.nutsite.com

The first doesn't sell UNSHELLED Brazil Nuts, but only WITH SHELL.

The second and the third, I contacted them via e-mail and no, they say they don't ship in Europe.

Obviously I am willing to buy also a large quantity, maybe 15 kg. or more if there aren't any problems for conserving the nuts for some months (I don't know, but I think not so).

How can I do? Please help me to find them...

I can't help you, but "unshelled" is the same as "with shell". It means that the nuts have not yet been shelled, hence "unshelled" or "not shelled". Likewise "shelled" is the same as "without shell".

LOL!!! Roman!

Hey, you buy'em from nutsonline have them go to me. I'll send them on to you with you paying shipping. I'll save the paperwork, but I wouldn't want to be liable if they get lost. Sounds complicated I know. But there must be a way. In fact I offer this to all Waifarians who don't have nuts  maybe

well anyway pm me if that's an option.

Best wishes,
Avalon :)

Ehi, Avalon, you're really GREAT !!! Your offer is very very generous.

How could I be grateful ?!?

Maybe sending you a special bottle of Chianti wine....

But... you're on the Wai diet, so you couldn't drink it, I'm so sorry... ahahah !!!

Well Avalon.

I am trying hard to find these nuts.
If I don't find them in a week, then I'll PM you and we'd come to an understanding. (Oh my God... English verbs are such a complicated thing!).

However many many thanks in advance!!! :D

Could anybody let me know how long Brazil Nuts could be preserved?

As long as you keep them in the shell, in a dry and dark place, you can keep them for years, even.
About 10 years ago I bought 3 sacks of 25 kg (which cost me only 300 dutch guilders in total, which is about 140 euro), and daily ate from them 3 years in a row...(35 gram shelled nuts daily) Its just that in the end the percentage of rancid nuts (clearly visible once you open the nuts by their dark yellow / brown color under the brown peel) has increased to about 25%.

Thanks a lot, RRM, hearing good news about Brazil Nuts even makes me feel easier to speak English...

Last question for the moment:

should I throw rancid Brazil Nuts away wholly or could I cut the rancid part and save the rest ( maybe the internal part)?

When a nut as gone rancid, it mostly affects the entire nut, though at times I nibbled off a small part that was still good.

Marcel wrote:Hi guys,

first I'd like to introduce myself shortly: I'm a 18 year old male from Austria and new to this diet. Trying to get rid of the acne I have like 3 years or so. Its now the fourth day for me with the Sample Diet and I already see changes - seems to work :)

Now my actual question: Does anyone know where I could order unshelled nuts (mainly Brazil Nuts, love them  ) online with shipment to Austria?

At the moment I consume these brazil nuts. The shop declares them as "raw-food quality". Should be ok as well?!

regards, Marcel
Hi Marcel,
Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, they are not okay, because they have been shelled already, so that they may cause acne. Especially in the beginning you better be very careful. Once your acne is gone, you can start experimenting with those shelled nuts you are eating now.

http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/100 ... _Nuts.html

The only downside is that you need to buy 10,000 kg minimum...

http://www.hexagonaltrader.com/html/brazil_nuts.html

or one sea-container (filled with large 50 kg bags)...
However....
I also found (under bird supplies) 10 pound bags ($34.95) at amazon.com
