bananas as cheap calories

Post by johndela1 »

I never really thought about it till I read a post from benzapp some time ago. If I make sure I'm eating my yolks, fish and say some oragnes, could I get the bulk of my fruits calories from bananas as my regular diet?

I have noticed that buying all the stuff for this diet (I buy everything organic) is really expensive. For the first time I realized that I can get buy eating less fish (I eat 200 grams at a time usually, out of habbit) and more bananas.

I've always loved bananas but have usually limited my consumption because ideas I have about them from reading stuff on the web. Mainly that they are less than optimal to eat because they are not really natural and too sweet.

John, thought you might find this interesting. I haven't read it all yet, but older studies can be informative.

cool, I think it is time for me to reread the book

I'm still amazed by the book, it is like the bible of nutrition to me

I'm just now understanding why sugar is perfectly fine to consume once you have met all your nutritional needs yet still lack energy. I don't take table sugar as food, but I don't avoid it like I used to. I mean I used to use stevia as a sweetner for my tea now I use table sugar and/or maple syrup. I guess I am kind of thinking that bananas are going to be my cheap calories.
