ok. But you do know that it says do not freeze anything...not just fish, right? Shyt if I knew I could eat frozen fruit I would be eating so much better right now. Fresh fruit is very expensive right now because we are in a recession here in the states.

No, not harmful.Kookaburra wrote:I am thinking of buying frozen durians to eat. I just want to make sure that it is perfectly alright to eat it? It is not harmful to my health?RRM wrote:No, in the sense that most cells have been ruptured, so that they deteriorate rapidly.Kookaburra wrote: So basically, besides the difference in taste, frozen fruits and animal food are just like their fresh counterparts?
Freezing ruptures the cells, and that will cause the fruits to rot after having been frozen.Kookaburra wrote:I just bought a frozen durian yesterday. Do frozen fruits continue to ripe? Or is the ripening process 'dead'?
So, no more ripening, just rotting.
A couple of hours; That depends on how much water they contain (becoming ice in the freezer),Kookaburra wrote:How long do frozen fruits take to defrost?
how big they (or the chunks) are,
and on what the outside temp is.
Luckily its very easy to tell: when the fruit gets softer, it gets unfrozen!
Yes.Kookaburra wrote:For frozen fruits, do I need to store them in the freezer if I do not want to eat them yet?
The good thing about fruits is that deterioration does not make it dangerous to eat,Kookaburra wrote:Oh no! The frozen durian that I bought on Sunday has been sitting at the table outside for 4 days now. Is it still safe to eat? The durian has a very hard shell so I don't think it will deteriorate that fast?RRM wrote:No, as deterioration starts immediately.Kookaburra wrote:Can I just leave them on the table together with fresh fruits like banana?
its just that it will be fizzy, with bubbles and a little alcohol, and the taste will probably be not so nice.
So you can just try it, and if its not good anymore, you throw it away.
The shell doesnt matter/help, as the fruit will deteriorate from the inside.
