Help with understanding the basics

Post by janice morris »

Hello. I want to be clear on a few things.
My goal is increased weight loss energy my skin maintains pretty well but definetely what I eat affects things.
1. Watery (not dried) fruit in a.m? Till about noon? I do that anyway but I want clarity
2. Salad.. only the cuc, tomato etc. and some herbs? What about a huge salad of raw lettuce, greens, cabbage?
3. Nuts afternoon and with dried fruit?
A typical day of eating would be?
Wai mentions olives in some sample menu, although I love them they are loaded with salt and then I am off and running.
What about organic coffee? Yes it is "cooked" even if I cold press it.
Isn't it hard for you folks to limit raw fish to about 3 oz per day?
Thanks so much I love this site. Janice Morris

Weightloss is your goal?
and/or better energy levels?
1. Watery (not dried) fruit in a.m? Till about noon?
Whole fruits are best because then you dont need to drink water additionally, and they are fresh and definitely not heat-dried.
Dried fruits are a perfect alternative for on the go.
So, if you can start your day with whole fruits or juices, thats better.
only the cuc, tomato etc. and some herbs?
Yes, but only if the herbs are fresh green herbs.
What about a huge salad of raw lettuce, greens, cabbage?
They are harder to digest; they may cause indigestion. They also may cause gasses while they supply you with too little energy.
3. Nuts afternoon and with dried fruit?
Only raw nuts, which means that you have remove the shells yourself. (nuts sold without the shell are not raw)
Yes, nuts combine best with dried ruits, but you can also add them to the salad.
A typical day of eating would be?
Consuming fruits and juices (and salad) all days long; a few bites or sips about every 20 minutes or so. Plus a salad meal (if you dont eat from the salad all day) and a raw fish / eggyolk meal.
Wai mentions olives in some sample menu, although I love them they are loaded with salt and then I am off and running.
Only non-salt cured ones are fine, but very hard to find.
What about organic coffee? Yes it is "cooked" even if I cold press it.
Yes, its cooked, so no.

In the beginning it is.
If you are not susceptible to acne, you increase the portions.

Its not about raw versus cured.
You shouldnt eat raw olives, as they contain too high levels of oleuropin.
What you need, are olives cured without the use of salt (the curing removes the oleuropin)

What matters, is whether salt has been used in the curing process, which is usually the case. If it doesnt specifically say so, then salt has been used, as that is standard.
