fictors log - the sample diet

Post by fictor »

So, my first day on the sample diet!
My goal is to clear up the last bit of acne left on my face, chest, neck
and back, by sticking to the sample diet for 2 weeks, or really
as long as it takes :)

I just had my breakfast, consisting of 1 apple, one grapefruit,
a small glass of grapefruit juice and extra virgin olive oil and
a few teaspoons of extra virgin coconut oil.

I am feeling satisfied, but since I usually eat a lot, I suspect I will have
an avocado, tomato and cucumber salad in an hour or so.

I will keep you guys updated about my progress!

Feel free to give tips!

:D

Oh, I am sorry, this should have been posted in the "diet diary"!

Can a moderator move it, please?

I see the post still has not been moved, and apologize again for posting in the wrong section of the forum, but still I will now post how the rest of the day went.

First of all, I discovered I am not supposed to have coconut oil on the sample diet, but I had to, because I did not have enough olive oil.
Anyone has any experience with using coconut oil as well on the sample
diet?

Also I noticed the grapefruit juice I had for breakfast was actually not
completely fresh. It was heated under the production. From now on I
will stick to juice I press myself.

Well, overall I ate something like 3 apples, 2 grapefruits, 1 banana, 4 avocados, some cucumber, a few tomatoes, a lot of olive oil, some
coconut oil and drank some water and the grapefruit juice I had for breakfast.

I will have a salad from avocado, cucumber, tomatoe, chives, olive oil,
lemon juice and 5 egg yolks for dinner in a little while.

I felt good all day long, and I am surprised how stuffed one gets from
eating chopped up apples with olive oil :) I am going to start working
out quite hard in the gym soon, and I am looking forward to see if this
diet is giving me enough nutrients, especially protein, for supporting
this kind of lifestyle.

I have had very few new breakouts today, and the red marks from old
acne on my back seems to be fading quite quickly.

Thats all for today :)

Well, here goes day 2 :)

I was pleasantly surprised to wake up today and find NO NEW BREAKOUTS!
:D

I really suspect the whole thing with this very quick improvement is because
I "kicks tarted" this diet by doing a strict 3 days apple fast prior to starting
the Wai diet. I ate only fresh organic apples for three days, which is a
method for clearing up acne, provided by the ebook "How I clared my acne
in 3 days".

Anyways, no new breakouts are great success! :D

I am having breakfast right now, 1 grapefruit, and one apple
covered in olive oil. I am bringing a mashed banana and avocado
with olive oil as a second breakfast, and having a avocado,
tomato and cucumber salad for lunch at work today.

At the place I work we can eat as much fruit we want to, so
I am just bringing some olive oil :)

I will keep you updated!
Have a nice day!

Well, day 2 is almost over. I am just now finishing what must be my seventh meal today (a avocado, tomato, cucumber fresh chives olive oil salad, with a grapefruit as a starter) and feel great! :D

During the day I had NO NEW BREAKOUTS, and I am stunned with the success!

It seems my body was just waiting for me to start this diet!
I have had probably like 6-7 avocados today, as well as
many apples, bananas and grapefruit. One kiwi also, plus
a lot of tomatoes, cucumber, olive oil and chives. I also drank
several bottles of filtered water, as I was quite thirsty all day.

My stomach feels great, and I have almost no gas at all.
I am very much looking forward to the egg yolk avocado
salad I am having in an hour or two, and I hope tomorrow
will be a continuing success :)

Have a nice evening!

Day 3

I woke up this morning with 1 pimple in my face. It was a small, notthing
to worry about-pimple. More like a smallish drop of sebum on my face.
It "popped" when I barely touched it.

So, this is still a great success story for me! I just had breakfast,
consisting of 1 grapefruit, 1 banana and 1 avocado. I also added
a spoon of coconut oil to it, since it does not seem to make me break
out. I think I will continue to use it while on the sample diet, even though
it is not originally allowed on the strict sample diet.

I am of to work now, looking forward to those creamy avocados and
bananas, and a few apples and lots of olive oil :)

So, another workday is over. I have had now significant breakouts, and
felt great all day. I ate several apples, bananas, avocados, tomatoes
and some cucumber. I also drink a lot of water.

This feels so right! I only hope it support me with enough
nutrients for when I start working out again. I am going
out running later on tonight, and will have the egg yolks
in the evening, after the running, before I get to bed.

Have a splendid evening! :)

Energy management is very tricky in the beginning, especially when run or work out. Thats because now you dont take in large amounts of energy at once anymore. So that if you want to replenish your muscle glycogen (which is required to be able to run / work out), you need to do that very consciously. If you dont, you will soon find yourself running out of energy.

I went running last night, as I said, and I ran to the store which is
mostly uphill, maybe 4-5 kilometers. Then I did my shopping and
since there was some things they did not have in stock I ran to
another store, about 1 kilometer form there. After that my backpack was so full I could not run, but I walked the 4-5 kilometers home, feeling
tired at no point during all this.

I only got 4 hours of sleep (I know it is WAY to little, but it just happened)
and I have not been tired all day, so I guess this diet supports my energy needs pretty well :)

I have had only very very minor acne activity, like 2 mini-zits in my face,
but a lot of sebum production though. But, I will rather be shiny than
bumpy and spotty :)

I had a little gas and stomach discomfort to day though, but
it was very minor, and I think it is passing. It also might be
due to the fact that I added dried fruits to my diet yeasterday
(raisins, dates and dried apricot) and that I also introduced
mango (I had one whole for breakfast).

All in all I am happy and satisfied.

Have a very good night ya'll :)

The success continues! I have only very mild acne activity, and
feel great! I worked out after work to day, and I had enough energy
to do the exercises. I only hope I eat enough protein to replenish
my muscle.

Anyways, I am taking some frozen raw fish out of the freezer
afterwards, and also I found a shop that sells unshelled
Brazil nuts, or "Para nuts", as they are called here in Norway
where I live.

Today I ate several bananas, some raisins, dried apricots, dates, apples,
an orange, several avocados, tomatoes and cucumber. I am having
egg yolks afterwards also.

I will keep you guys posted. Have a nice evning, all of you! :)

Well done Fictor, you seem to be doing really well.
It's good to hear of someone else at roughly the same stage as me, although i'm sure i'll have many 'first' days!

I am realizing that I am not really following a strict "sample diet", but
rather a strict Wai diet. I mean, I am not eating any munch foods or
anything, but I am having coconut oil and I am going to buy Brazil nuts.

As long as it seems to be working, regarding acne, I will continue this.
If my skin s not perfectly clear in a couple of weeks, I will try to limit
the foods I eat even more.

Now I just had breakfast. 1 organic banana, a few slices of melon
(one that is called "honey melon") with some coconut oil.
Exotic, tropical breakfast! :) Yummy!

My skin looks good also today. I have to go inches from the mirror
to stop any blackhead or stuffed pores, and I have no infected breakouts!
Also, my skin looks smoother and more matte. Great! :D

Its not just about eating enough protein, but also very much about consuming enough energy all the time, because every time that you dont, you convert muscle protein for energy.
So, make very sure to keep your energy level high enough all the time. If you feel energetic all the time, then you are doing it right.
Regarding protein; once your skin is clear you can start increasing the intake of raw egg yolks and/ or fish to see how much your skin can take. Maybe your skin skin can tolerate quite some raw protein, which would make it much easier to maintain (or increase) your muscle mass.
Maybe it should be your priority to start experimenting with the intake of raw protein before you start experimenting with munch foods, right?

Well, coconut oil can be part of the sample diet, and Brazil nuts as well.
Some people react badly (skinwise) to Brazil nuts but technically they are allowed on the sample diet.

I have not had the opportunity to post as frequently lately, but
I am still on the diet, of course :)

My skin continues to get better, and I have bought lots of dried
fruits to vary my diet a little (dried mango, dates, raisins, pineapple,
apple, banana, figs and apricot)

Feeling good. My mom commented that I am a little pale, but
I think it is only because my skin is no longer red from acne :)
