Who doesn’t love a fruit smoothie? How about a healthy one that has a taste that cannot be beat? You can stop your search today because this smoothie recipe has it all.

This healthy fruit smoothie recipe is chopped full of wholesome fruit pieces and the sweet taste of honey. Blend one up today.

Ingredients:

½ cup crushed ice
1 cup unsweetened apple juice
½ cup watermelon, cut into small cubes
½ cup strawberries cut into halves
½ cup mango, cut into small cubes
½ cup peaches, cut into small cubes
¼ cup honey
¼ cup almonds, crushed

To Make:

Frozen fruit may be substituted for this recipe, however fresh fruit will provide the best taste for these smoothies.

Before making your smoothie, cut up the watermelon, strawberries, mango, and peaches according to the directions listed above. Then, in a small bowl, combine all the fruit pieces and the honey together.

Make sure all the pieces are covered by the honey. Let fruit mixture chill in refrigerator for at least half an hour. Remove the fruit bowl from the refrigerator and let it stand for 10 minutes. Combine the apple juice and crushed ice into a blender.

Blend this mixture for less than one minute before adding the fruit. Add the fruit and honey mixture to the liquid in the blender.

Remove blender from the base and pour smoothie mixture into tall milkshake glasses. Then sprinkle crushed almonds on top.

Wow Caraidh,

You really made my day!

I still haven't gotten any unshelled nuts, and have never tasted nut milk, but that sounds so delicious! Can you make it with a blender, provided if you soak them before?

I'm thinking about getting a juicer, but everybody says it's a pain to clean. I have a citric press, and I can press orange juice. It's actually pretty filling , as I put a lot of sugar inside (even though I hate sugar, but I hate even more the taste of acidic orange).

Why were you withholding all these good recipes before? Is it because you no longer make smoothies and prefer "pure" food?

That was a quote too. I better start using the

I just didn't know it was so important to you to find blender recipes. Once I realised I thought I'd try post as many as I could.

And yes, as I don't usually make them anymore, I couldn't remember what I used to make.

Your thread inspired me to make a smoothie today - I squeezed the juice of 2 oranges into the blender, added 3 very ripe peaches, and whizzed to a liquid. Then added a small punnet of strawberries, a few at a time otherwise it won't blend, and then added 2 small bananas.
It was lovely!!!!!!

I've never used juice instead of water before, but it does of course make a stronger taste, which the water dilutes. You have to blend it in stages though, if you just put everything in at once, it won't blend. Whereas with water you just throw in and whizz.

Hi Chin CHin,
I still need more variety than Oscar but I feel a bit like Cairidh in the sense that I'll like similar things for a few weeks and then I'll switch.
For instance at the beginning I loved Salmon and then suddenly i couldn't handle it anymore: it would really make me feel sick. Now I can 'try' a piece and it's ok but I much prefer tuna or mackerel.
If you're tired of egg yolks try combining them with different things: adding them (after you've blended) to a shake. Mixing them with an avocado or banana, or simply with a bit of sugar pure...

I just made a smoothie.

Bad Chin Chin! You've got me into bad habits! Naughty!

It was:

juice of 1/2 lemon
1 clementine
1 plum
1 mango
1 banana

mmmm.

no water. if you blend the clementine to a liquid first, before adding the other stuff, you don't need to add a liquid.

That's how I feel about salmon at this stage too! I think I ate too much of it. My old rule before being on this diet was to never repeated eat something I love: I did this for bamboo roots when I was a kid; I ate so much of it that now, just the thought of it suffice to make me feel nauseous. Same thing happened to my aunt on seafood. When she went to business trips to Hong Kong, she used always splurged on seafood only. Then one day, all of a sudden, she couldn't put one bite more in her mouth. She hasn't had seafood since.

The only thing that I can eat everyday seems to be fruits and honey.

Can't you buy packets of mackerel fillets?
I do like red tuna and eat it twice a week (that's about 400 grams of tuna).

The other 4 days of the week, I eat about 200 grams of salmon and two small mackarel cut into fillet each day. Than one day out of the week, I eat beef carpaccio or steak tartare.

I wasn't aware that we can eat trout or sardine raw. I tried sea bream (dorade in french) raw, but I was not a big fan. I would have integrated it more in my diet, but it's not really worth the price.

Sorry, this doesn't really go into this thread, but more the fish thread...

Basically we can eat any fish, but the fatty fish brings us the most nutrients.
I forget if you have to eat so much fish for your bones, but if not, you could reduce the amount if you're still getting sick of it.

I haven't taken care of my blood analysis because my doctor wrote me a letter saying that he didn't think I needed another blood test and refered me to another specialist.

Since I'm in the middle of my thesis, I don't really have the time to take care of this, so maybe in June?

I'm eating so much fish because I liked it, anyhow more than egg yolks.

I can't seem to push beyond 6 egg yolks a day.

Okidoke, you have to do what feels the best for you. I started out by eating 150-200gr too, but now I'm more around 100gr per day. Egg yolks are really filling...I eat only 4 a day, but once I ate them all 4 at the same time, and I could only just eat them (with 1 banana).

Hey Chin Chin,
Don't stress! of all things that's the worst! You'll get a test in june once you're done with your thesis. I'll see to this when I come to visit!
I just got a test and I'm low on iron. I'm eating more egg yolks to help this. I eat 4 around noon and 4 just before going to bed both times with a banana. This works for me. I'm trying to up the amount still but it's difficult because they are indeed so rich!
I eat fish about 3 or 4 times a week and this is fine for me.
It's true though that at the beginning I felt I had to eat much more than I do now.

You are still low on iron?

Can it be that your metabolism does not absorb iron very well? Because each time you are on a different diet, you are low on iron, whereas I've never had this problem

I want to say more spinach but of course, we have to throw that out of the window.

I don't know how I'm doing on vitamin D either

Did you ever make up for lost iron since last time when you were vegetarian? Do you have more iron than last time?
