Coral Club

Post by Dreamer »

What do you guys think of these? Apparently they have unprocessed/cold-processed written on them.

Let me know your opinion.

Also if you have any other experience with the "Coral Club" please let me know your experience and opinion of it. They produce a lot of supplements which you can see here: http://coral-club.com/en/catalog/health/ (not that I'm interested in any of the tablets! But some of my friends are complete fanatics and taking something like 10-20 different pills from their product line. Would like to educate myself according to your wisdom fellow Waiers).

Thanks !

Ha ha!

This is the very first sentence: "The active ingredients (sesame, flax seeds, and almonds)..."
Are the sesame seeds chasing the flax seeds?
Or are the almonds doing the hula hoop?

Apparently, these guys think that their potential customers have the IQ of a banana,
readily impressed by the use of "active ingredients" ...

Definition: "active ingredients",
Active ingredients, are ingredients that can do aerobics. :D
(Definition sourced from Fun Aytundra's Upside Down Dictionary)

Example of word usage:
I am sure these active ingredients containing: sesame (with sass in me), flax (with fl(e)x ability), and almonds (with climbing al(l) moun(tain) ranges) can give you enough energy to last through the day.

Well these guys are Russians so I am not surprised their translations do not make perfect sense. But is there more to it than this incorrect usage of words?

In all fairness, seriousness and fun aside.
Dreamer what is your definition of active ingredients?
Can you tell me what makes sesame, flax and almonds active ("active" erhm so to speak)?
Why do you think they put sesame, flax and almonds in there?

I think they used the word properly as a marketing technique, they are more marketers than you or I.
They wanted to sound medical or pharmaceutical in their marketing usage of the word.
When something sounds medical and prescriptive, some people with little knowledge will value it more.
It shows me these guys are not marketing to you or I because, we are probably more knowledgeable.

Just like the psychology of giving the same advice in a lab coat vs, without one.
The lab coat person will usually be more convincing to the lay people.
But everyone of good laboratory techniques know that lab coats exist only inside a lab and should never be brought outside for good laboratory practices. Hence advertisements with a lab coat outside a lab environment are essentially flawed. Believe, nothing until you read their data and p-values,
(and most importantly believe only after you have ran through the checks and balances in your brain, prodded enough of their disguises and decoded much of the reality, spiced it up with a dash of your own common sense, and only and only when you have deemed it safe, that is when you can use it.)

These words are meant to impress, or say something.
When you want to sell something, you try to make the product look good.
And you want to know whether you can trust them, in what they say.
They tell you that these bars contain active ingredients.
So, what is an active ingredient?
You may find the answer by asking yourself:
What is a passive ingredient?
I guess its any ingredient that does nothing, right?
Hmmm, in what way?
Nothing inside is actually doing something, right?
So, unless there are any bacteria, parasites or worms inside, there are no active ingredients inside.

All ingredients are passive ingredients.
Whether its water, fiber, vitamins, minerals or omega fatty acids; they are all passive ingredients.
Once absorbed into your body, your body can use all of that, as a nutrient, or to move your constipated bowels.
Nutrients such as vitamins and minerals may act as co-enzymes in your body.

So, what does it say when they make such a claim?
1. They think you know nothing about nutrients, so they can write anything and get away with it
2. They probably had a ball when writing that sales rep.
3. You cannot believe anything else they may claim

The question is not unprocessed vs. processed or cold-processed vs. hot-processed.
You have to look at the types of molecules you will be eating, and ask yourself will these molecules be good for you?

Ingredients: Organic Almond Butter, Organic Date Paste, Organic Agave Syrup, Organic Sprouted Flax Seeds, Organic Raisins, Organic Sesame Seeds

I mentally distilled the ingredients to: Almond, Date, Agave Syrup, Flax Seeds, Raisins, Sesame Seeds

Concludes this is expensive,
almond is first ingredient, you can buy that in bulk, if you wanted that food item.
date, agave syrup, raisins, are sugar with lots of fiber and other stuff; granulated sugar is cheaper. (I bet they cheated and heated the sugar stuff to make the bar adhere all ingredients together. I don't think they used bubble gum to stick it together.)
flax seed and sesame seeds, well do you really need them for poo? Eat a kiwi with seeds and you will get the same stuff.

and as usual, dates -aytundra will never go near moose droppings
This is what aytundra sees.
What do you see Dreamer?

The same as you, it goes for €1.60 per bar...

Would this bar be considered Wai though? Can they print cold processed and lie about that?

Dreamer, tell me if it is Wai?
Do you think it is Wai?
What makes it Wai?
...and what makes it not Wai?
You are hesitant on munching this bar, why?

The only value in this bar would be its portability and speed of use for travelling. Do not fool yourself that I would like to eat this bar lol!

Wai for me is food that causes the most minimal amount of harm and is most optimal for a human being.
