Cellular Aging

Post by Thomas »

Does eating whole fruit increase the rate of cellular aging as compared to fruit juice due to the 'burden' of fiber?

It accelerates aging of your bowels, because of the tiny wounds they cause.

What?! This sounds horrible!

I suppose it's still not as hard one the bowels as cooked meats and grains though.

Cooked foods contain toxins that both cause damage and can cause bowel cancer.
Fiber only accelerates aging of the bowels, as much as sunlight exposure cause wrinkling of the skin.
By cooking though, most of the very tough fibers in grains are mostly 'disarmed'.
So, its kind of a mixed bag.
I guess we can safely assume that our bowels are better of with whole fruits than with a cooked foods diet, and even better of when that fruit diet comprises some juice.
