Hetero Cyclic Amines
As per wiki: Research has shown that an olive oil, lemon juice and garlic marinade cut HCA levels in chicken by as much as 90%. Six hours of marinating in beer or red wine cut levels of two types of HCA in beef steak by up to 90% compared with unmarinated steak. However, researchers say that "It may...

Re: teeth
I have found that plaque really becomes problematic when consuming grains. It's the stickiness of gluten I think. If not removed properly (including below the gum line) it will lead to erosion of the tooth and periodontal disease. It's more of an issue with refined grains in my experience. The fat i...

Re: Blood Type?
Thx! Lookin' healthy, Oscar. I couldn't tell because the hair cut is a little shorter, but it seems like you have slightly more grey hair. Am I correct?

Re: teeth
I have a harem of 28 women. Each member is assigned the duty of caring for one tooth. I must be very nice to them or my mouth will suffer. Fortunately, based on specific decay patterns it's quite easy to tell if one has been slacking. They take turns brushing my tongue.

Re: Blood Type?
I have thought about that OJ condition and feel that it perhaps is irrelevant to the question at hand. Please attempt to answer the following: I would like to attempt to put this blood-type discussion to a true test if possible. I would like to hear from all members who have been: a.) 100% Wai for a...

Re: Blood Type?
I would like to attempt to put this blood-type discussion to a true test if possible. I would like to hear from all members who have experienced "long-term" success on the Wai diet while consuming lots of OJ (i.e. OJ is a staple in your Wai diet). By long-term, I mean more than two years with notabl...

Re: Osteoporosis and Acid/base balance
Again, celiacs can have a secondary reaction to milk with the same effects, the absorption rate of calcium from dairy is nowhere near what you would have us believe, and with this statement: If Celiac was THE main cause of osteoporosis, the statistical correlation would be significantly higher. you ...

Re: Osteoporosis and Acid/base balance
False.
There is no way at this point to prove that it could be one of the main causes. But it might be. Your Wai book observations on osteoporosis are merely correlative speculation as well.

Re: Osteoporosis and Acid/base balance
If roughly 3% of Americans have osteoporosis, so ten million with another 44 million exhibiting early symptoms and 1% of Americans have celiac (I have read that the number of undiagnosed cases of celiac cases may be as high as one in 30), so three million and 20% of those 100 celiacs suffer from ost...

Re: Osteoporosis and Acid/base balance
Do you mean that 20% of people with Celiac have osteoporosis, Yes, so statistically less significant than the other way around, but significant nonetheless. The 97% percent stat appears on various sites, and I agree that it is a suspiciously precise number for an undiagnosed anything. Perhaps it a ...

Re: Osteoporosis and Acid/base balance
20%; however, it's is estimated by NIH that 97% of celiac cases are undiagnosed, and due to the time frame involved in correct diagnosis one can imagine how skewed the osteoporosis stats may be. If the figures are correct, imagine the implications for the undiagnosed elderly. I'm not proposing a uni...

Re: Osteoporosis and Acid/base balance
From: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/10/091007171735.htm Researchers from the University of Edinburgh studied a protein called osteoprotegerin (OPG) in people with celiac disease – a digestive condition that affects 1 in 100 people. In healthy people, OPG plays a crucial role in maintaini...

You could try fish I suppose. Eventually I was forced to quit the Wai diet as my health was beginning to suffer. I have so rather unusual circumstances to deal with, but everyone does to one degree or another. For more info you could look in my most recent diet diary posts (see "hi everyone, new guy...
